As a member of the Zurich Global Employee Bene\xef\xac\x81ts Solutions* (ZGEBS) Middle East team, you will be responsible for underwriting and analyzing new and existing Group Life & Group Medical Business within delegated authority levels, under direct supervision, to achieve business goals and maximize customer experience.

- The Zurich Global Employee Bene\xef\xac\x81ts Solutions team help multinational companies \xef\xac\x81nd the right \xef\xac\x81nancing solutions for their global employee bene\xef\xac\x81t plans.
Job Accountabilities
As ZGEBS M.E Underwriter, your role will involve:
- Completing underwriting assessments of low to moderate complexity while working within delegated authority.
- Providing technical underwriting support and guidance to customers and distributors, consistently providing excellent customer service.
- Maintaining distributor relationships by consistently requesting the correct evidence, consistently making the correct decision, and always explaining rating decisions.
- Completing a range of queries and referrals within agreed authority limits, measuring the exposure & analyzing the risk of each case to maintain underwriting standards.
- Contributing to the development and improvement of technical underwriting standards, controls, practices, and procedures to better meet business goals.
- Proactively contributes ideas and work for the development of new or enhanced propositions /procedures/philosophy, ensuring we charge the right premium for the associated risk.
- Proactively supports development of self and others and contributing to a positive and supportive team culture.
- Assists with training as directed.
- Works closely with distributors and other operational areas to support the overall achievement of the business plan, demonstrating knowledge in underwriting expertise, systems, procedures, and processes.
Job Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree (or equivalent) in Finance, or related discipline, and 8 or more years of experience in related field.
- A deep and working understanding of the Middle East (and Africa an advantage) Group Medical markets and ability to underwrite the same.
- Other professional qualifications related to underwriting will be an advantage.
- Familiarity with customer needs and those of their advisers.
- An ability to understand, interpret and translate customer requirements into deliverables.
- Good understanding of the compliance requirements affecting dealings with Intermediaries, Trustees, Companies, and members.
- Excellent communication, influencing and motivation skills.
- Business planning and organization skills.
- Confidence to be, or become, market facing with customers and brokers and the ability to explain complex matters in a simple way.
- Language skills: English. Arabic and French is an advantage.
