Job Summary-:

Workshop Coordinator

with strong

hands-on experience

in rebuilding

Caterpillar, Cummins, and Deutz

engines. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading the workshop team, ensuring jobs are completed on time, and maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety. This is a

leadership role

that also requires

technical knowledge-how

, problem-solving, and the ability to guide mechanics and technicians through complex rebuilds and diagnostics.

Duties & Responsibilities-:

Training & Supervision:

Train and mentor junior technicians and new team members.

Supervise and coordinate all engine rebuild activities in the workshop.

Task Assignments-:

Assign work to technicians based on their skills and workload.

Monitoring-:

Monitor job progress and provide technical guidance where needed

Oversee parts ordering and ensure correct components are used

Ensure engine disassembly, inspection, reassembly, and testing are done per OEM standards (Caterpillar, Cummins, Deutz)

Quality Assurance and Documentation-:

Carry out final inspections and quality control on completed engine

Prepare and maintain job cards, service reports, and progress updates

Maintenance and Safety Protocols-:

Maintain workshop cleanliness, tool control, and adhere to the safety protocols.

Qualifications & Skills-:

Trade Certificate / Diploma in Diesel Mechanics or Mechanical Engineering OEM training or certification from Caterpillar, Cummins, or Deutz (advantageous) Knowledge of electronic diagnostics (ECMs, laptop-based tools like Cummins INSITE, CAT ET, etc.)

5+ years of hands-on experience

in diesel engine rebuilding (preferably with Caterpillar, Cummins, Deutz engines) Proven experience in a supervisory or lead technician role Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, engine diagrams, and specifications Experience with tools, measuring equipment, and workshop machines (micrometers, torque wrenches, honing machines, etc.) Understanding of safety and quality control procedures Good leadership, communication, and organizational skills Basic computer skills for job cards, emails, and parts look-up
