Wireman
Job Title: Wireman / Panel Wirer
Report To: Production Supervisor
Job Summary:
The Wireman is responsible for the accurate and neat wiring of electrical components within switchgear and control panels according to wiring diagrams and schematics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Wire Routing: Route and bundle control and power wires neatly between components as per the wiring diagrams.
- Termination: Crimp, ferrule, and terminate wires onto terminals (components, terminal blocks) securely and correctly.
- Cable Harnessing: Create and install wire looms and cable harnesses.
- Diagram Reading: Accurately interpret complex wiring diagrams and schematic drawings.
- Testing Support: Assist the testing technician in identifying and correcting wiring errors during the testing phase.
- Quality & Standards: Ensure all work complies with internal quality standards and wiring practices (e.g., color codes, wire sizing).
- Education: High School Diploma or ITI certificate in Electrician trade.
- Experience: 2-4 years of experience in panel wiring within a switchgear/control panel manufacturing environment.
- Skills: High proficiency in reading electrical schematics. Excellent hand skills for precise termination. Knowledge of crimping tools and techniques.
