Job Description

Jebel Ali School, Dubai, is seeking an outstanding, and highly qualified School Counsellor, to join their leading British international school in August 2023.
Jebel Ali School is a leading British Curriculum school in Dubai for students aged 3-18 years. Established in 1977, JAS has an enviable reputation for being a much-loved community school centred around the ethos that our students never stop believing that better is always possible. Our aim is for everyone to belong, believe and become better than they thought they could.
Our campus contains state of the art facilities including a standalone Foundation Stage, Primary and Secondary Schools as well as some of the most impressive sports facilities in the city. Known and admired as the original Dubai community school, the school currently has over 1,650 students on roll of whom approximately 46% are British/Irish with an additional 53 nationalities represented. Jebel Ali School follows the English National Curriculum to GCSE and \xe2\x80\x98A\xe2\x80\x99 Levels \xe2\x80\x93 and from September 2023 BTEC options are to be introduced.

Requirements The successful applicant will:
Be a qualified Counsellor with experience working with young people in a short-term therapeutic manner, both on a one-one basis as well as small group interventions Hold a minimum master\'s level in Psychology or counselling or substantial experience post-graduate degree Possess a strong focus on the pastoral care of children, understanding the balance between academic and social progress and support Possess excellent interpersonal skills and a positive approach to both individual and collaborative professional development Have the ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team Be able to implement effective referral and follow-up processes as outlined by the Lead Counsellor/Headteacher/Principal To adhere to laws, policies, procedures, and ethical standards of the psychological code of conduct (safeguarding students) Be eligible for, or under the process of obtaining, a Community Development Authority (CDA) license. Be available to join JAS from August 2023
