Job Description

Key Responsibilities Operational Oversight

Read and interpret job specifications for pre-planning (sequence, resources, WPS availability, consumables, etc.). Develop fabrication plans and risk analyses. Ensure proper qualifications of welders, environmental conditions, and material verification before job commencement. Monitor and control welding parameters, consumable usage, distortion control, and cleaning. Supervise Post Weld Heat Treatment (PWHT), NDT processes, and ensure compliance with applicable standards. Implement traceability systems for welding documentation. Coordinate manpower and project schedules, and report progress to stakeholders.

Quality & Safety Compliance

Enforce safety, quality, and environmental policies. Identify and correct non-compliances as per ISO 3834-2 standards. Promote a safety-first culture and report hazards or incidents promptly. Ensure all tasks are safely planned, communicated, and executed.

People Management

Supervise 50-100 team members, including Sr. Foremen, Foremen, and Welders. Train, mentor, and evaluate subordinates to maintain high performance. Liaise with project teams, planners, and other departments to ensure alignment and productivity.

Key Competencies Technical Skills

In-depth knowledge of welding and brazing processes. Familiar with NDT techniques and standards (ISO 14731, AWS D1.1, ASME IX, ISO 3834-2, etc.). Understanding of ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Experienced in stress relieving and heat treatment processes. Proficient in MS Office and project documentation.

Qualifications Required

Diploma in Engineering or equivalent. International Welding Specialist (IWS) certificate or equivalent. 8+ years of experience in welding supervision in oil & gas or newbuilding projects.

Working Conditions

Frequently exposed to wet, hot, noisy, or high environments. Physical work may include climbing and lifting equipment. Both indoor and outdoor responsibilities.
