Job Description

The CSWIP 3.1 Certified Welding Inspector is responsible for:

Ensuring compliance with welding codes (AWS D1.1, ISO 3834, ASME Section IX, or relevant standards). Conducting inspections at different welding stages. Reviewing welding procedures and welder qualifications. Overseeing NDT and destructive testing as required. Ensuring corrective actions for any welding defects. Maintaining documentation and reports.

4.1 Material Inspection



Verify raw materials (steel plates, pipes, and welding consumables) comply with specifications. Check mill test certificates (MTC) and material identification.

4.2 Weld Joint Preparation



Ensure proper beveling, edge preparation, and fit-up. Confirm pre-weld cleanliness (no rust, oil, or contaminants). Verify root gaps and alignment according to WPS (Welding Procedure Specification).

4.3 Welding Process Inspection



Ensure the correct welding process (SMAW, GMAW, SAW, etc.) is followed. Monitor welding parameters (voltage, amperage, travel speed). Confirm preheat and interpass temperatures (if applicable). Ensure proper filler material and electrode storage. Verify adherence to WPS and PQR (Procedure Qualification Record).

4.4 In-Process and Post-Weld Inspection



Conduct visual inspections for cracks, undercut, porosity, and lack of fusion. Perform dimensional checks (pole straightness, joint alignment). Ensure weld reinforcement is within tolerance limits. Oversee NDT (PT, MT, UT, RT) as required.

4.5 Final Inspection



Confirm weld integrity and compliance with project specifications. Verify coating and galvanization quality. Approve or reject finished products based on inspection results.

4.6 Documentation and Reporting



Maintain welding logs, inspection reports, and test results. Report any non-conformities and corrective actions taken. Certify welders as per qualification standards.

Pay: AED2,500.00 - AED3,000.00 per month
