Welding Inspector: We are seeking an experienced welding inspector to oversee the quality and safety of our company's welding activities. The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting and assessing the strength and quality of welds, ensuring the correct equipment is used, verifying weld specifications, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. The ideal candidate should have advanced knowledge of modern welding procedures and excellent communication skills. Welding Inspector Responsibilities:
Conduct visual inspections of welds to ensure compliance with industry standards, specifications, and drawings. Inspect for defects such as cracks, porosity, incomplete penetration, and improper bead size. Possess thorough knowledge of AWS D1.1 and NDT techniques. Inspect post-welding, in-process, and completed welds; prepare inspection reports and maintain accurate records of all welding activities. Maintain and record consumable controls as per procedures. Perform non-destructive testing (NDT) on welds using ultrasonic, magnetic particle, and radiographic methods. Interpret and evaluate NDT results to determine weld quality. Review welding procedures and specifications for compliance; develop new procedures as required. Provide guidance and support to welding personnel to ensure adherence to standards and specifications. Provide training related to welding and WPS to welders. Collaborate with other departments to integrate welding activities into overall project plans. Ensure the correct equipment and materials are used for welding. Utilize welding inspection tools and equipment proficiently. Suggest alternative welding techniques when appropriate. Possess thorough knowledge of MIG and arc welding techniques. Read and interpret drawings and welding symbols accurately. Maintain a clean and safe work environment. Ensure welders adhere to health and safety regulations. Exhibit excellent communication and interpersonal skills; capable of working independently and in a team. Welding Inspector Qualification Requirements:
Bachelor's or diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. CSWIP/CWI certification and proficiency in NDE methods (MT, PT, UT, RT). Minimum of 5 years' experience as a welding inspector. Proficiency in computer applications such as Excel and Word. #J-18808-Ljbffr
