To supervise welding activities on pipeline projects, ensuring compliance with specifications, project standards, and international codes. Responsible for procedure development, welder qualifications, and welding quality control.
Key Responsibilities
Review and qualify WPS, PQR, and WPQ per client and pipeline codes (API 1104, ASME B31.4/B31.8).
Supervise pipeline welding activities including stringing, tie-ins, and field joints.
Monitor pre-heat, interpass temperatures, and PWHT.
Coordinate with QA/QC, NDT, and third-party inspectors.
Analyze welding defects and recommend corrective actions.
Maintain weld maps, logs, and welder records.
Ensure compliance in consumables, equipment, and documentation.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's in Mechanical/Metallurgical Engineering.
ADNOC Approved Welding Engineer (Preferred).
CSWIP 3.1/3.2 or AWS CWI preferred.
8-10 years' Oil & Gas experience, 5+ years in pipeline projects.
Strong knowledge of API 1104, ASME B31.4/31.8, NDT, and welding techniques.
