Job Summary:

The Welder experience in Propeller repair works using appropriate welding techniques.

Key Responsibilities:

Read and interpret engineering drawings and welding symbols for job requirements. Set up welding machines based on the job specifications and materials being used. Perform welding operations using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (e.g., flat, vertical, overhead). Select and use appropriate welding method for the material being welded (e.g., MIG, TIG, arc welding). Propeller repairing cracks, welding extra material to blade edges, and renewing blade tips Inspect and test welds to ensure they meet quality and safety standards. Clean and prepare surfaces to be welded, including removing rust, dirt, and debris. Follow safety procedures and protocols to maintain a safe working environment. Collaborate with supervisors, engineers, and other team members to ensure projects are completed on time and according to specifications.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in welding and Propeller weld repairs in ship repair / shipbuilding Proficiency in welding techniques, equipment operation, and safety procedures. Physical stamina and strength to perform welding tasks and challenging environment. Understanding of metallurgy and material properties related to welding processes.

Preferred Qualifications:

Certification or vocational training in welding. Strong knowledge of various welding techniques, metal properties (e.g., aluminum, stainless steel, nickel-copper) Relevant welding certifications, such as those from the Classification Society. Familiarity with welding codes and standards (e.g., AWS, ASME).
