Job Summary

We are seeking a

Recycling Plant Supervisor

with a solid background in recycling and scrap operations to oversee the daily activities of plant personnel, including machine operators, mechanics, welders, maintenance teams, and general helpers. The ideal candidate will be technically skilled, firm yet approachable, and able to drive productivity while ensuring safety, equipment reliability, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Team Supervision:

Lead, mentor, and supervise a team comprising operators, mechanics, welders, maintenance staff, and labourers. Assign tasks, monitor performance, and ensure accountability within the team. Provide clear instructions and corrective feedback where necessary.

Operational Oversight:

Manage day-to-day plant operations ensuring the smooth processing of recyclable materials and scrap. Monitor production metrics and ensure output targets are met without compromising on safety or quality. Coordinate shift schedules and manpower allocation to optimize plant efficiency.

Technical and Maintenance Support:

Work closely with the maintenance team to ensure all machines and equipment (e.g., shredders, conveyors, compactors, screening machines) are operating effectively. Assist in troubleshooting mechanical/electrical breakdowns and implementing preventive maintenance routines.

Safety & Compliance:

Enforce health and safety protocols in line with company and legal requirements. Conduct toolbox talks, daily safety briefings, and periodic safety audits. Ensure use of PPE and safe work practices by all team members.

Material Handling & Quality Control:

Oversee accurate sorting, grading, and processing of different scrap types (metal, aluminium, etc.). Identify and manage contamination issues and ensure output meets client and regulatory standards. Keep up to date with industry best practices in scrap management and recycling.

Reporting & Communication:

Maintain accurate shift logs, downtime reports, and production records. Report performance data, incidents, and maintenance issues to the Operations Manager.
Collaborate with other departments (e.g., logistics, procurement, admin) to ensure cohesive operations.

Requirements

Proven experience (minimum 3-5 years) in a supervisory role within a

recycling, scrap, or waste management environment

. Strong technical background with working knowledge of industrial machinery used in recycling plants. Hands-on experience with scrap materials, their types, and handling methods. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and maintenance plans is a plus. Strong leadership skills--firm, decisive, and confident in managing diverse teams under pressure. Proactive problem solver with strong communication and organizational skills. Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations applicable to recycling operations. Flexibility to work shifts or weekends as required.

Pay: AED5,000.00 - AED7,000.00 per month
