The Car Washing Supervisor oversees daily car washing operations, ensuring all vehicles are cleaned to company standards and delivered on time. The role manages car wash staff, assigns workload, inspects quality, controls materials, and ensures safety and efficiency across the washing area.
Roles and Responsibilities
Daily Operations Management
Supervise and coordinate all car washing activities (interior/exterior cleaning, polishing, vacuuming).
Ensure timely cleaning of vehicles for rentals, deliveries, and customer requests.
Allocate vehicles to washing bays based on priority and operational needs.
Inspect vehicles before and after washing to ensure adherence to quality standards.
Ensure all washing equipment and tools are functioning properly.
Staff Supervision & Scheduling
Manage car washers' daily tasks, attendance, break times, and duty schedules.
Train new staff on cleaning procedures, safety protocols, and company standards.
Monitor team performance and take corrective action when needed.
Motivate staff to maintain high productivity and professional behavior.
Quality Control
Conduct random quality checks to ensure vehicles are cleaned thoroughly.
Address and correct issues such as streaks, missed areas, bad odor, or poor finishing.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of washing bays and equipment storage areas.
Safety & Compliance
Ensure all staff follow safety procedures when using chemicals, pressure washers, and equipment.
Implement PPE policies and verify compliance.
Report equipment faults or hazards immediately.
Maintain proper use and storage of chemicals and materials.
Inventory & Material Management
Monitor stock levels of cleaning materials, chemicals, towels, and consumables.
Request replenishments before shortages occur.
Prevent misuse or wastage of materials.
Maintain logs of materials issued and used.
Coordination with Other Departments
Work closely with the rental, workshop, or service team to plan vehicle washing schedules.
Manage urgent cleaning requests, deliveries, and vehicle preparation.
Communicate delays or issues affecting operations.
Reporting
Prepare daily reports on number of vehicles washed, manpower productivity, and materials used.
Report incidents, customer complaints, or operational issues to management.
Track downtime of equipment and follow up for repairs.
Qualifications
High school diploma (minimum).
4-8 years of experience in car washing operations; 2-3 years in a supervisory role.
Experience in rental fleets, automotive workshops, or detailing centers is an advantage.
