Job Summary:

The Site Supervisor - Cable Laying is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day execution of cable laying activities for Outside Plant (OSP) and Fiber to the Home (FTTH) projects.

The supervisor ensures all fieldwork is conducted as per project design, quality standards, and safety regulations, while effectively managing labor teams, subcontractors, and coordinating with clients and internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

Supervise and coordinate daily activities related to fiber optic cable laying, including trenching, duct installation, backfilling, and cable pulling. Ensure execution as per approved drawings, specifications, and project timelines. Manage and guide field teams, helpers, and subcontractors to complete tasks efficiently. Monitor site safety and ensure full compliance with company and legal HSE policies. Coordinate with the engineering team to ensure material availability and resolve site issues. Conduct site surveys, prepare daily progress reports, and escalate any delays or issues to the Project Engineer. Ensure proper handling and installation of fiber optic cables to avoid damage and signal loss. Communicate with client representatives, consultants, and inspectors during site visits or audits. Verify the quality of work and ensure it meets Ooredoo, QNBN, or Vodafone standards (as applicable). Manage reinstatement and site restoration works post-cable installation. Maintain all project documentation including permits, drawings, and work inspection records.

Requirements:

Experience:

Minimum 3-5 years of hands-on experience supervising OSP/FTTH cable laying projects in Qatar or the GCC.

Education:

Diploma in Telecommunications, Electrical, or Civil Engineering preferred.

Certifications:

Valid Qatar Driving License (preferred). PTW (Permit to Work) knowledge for utility corridors (e.g., Ashghal, MOI, KAHRAMAA).

Skills & Competencies:

Strong leadership and team management skills. Good understanding of OSP/FTTH network architecture and installation techniques. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings. Familiar with project reporting. Effective communication in English; knowledge of Hindi/Arabic is an advantage.

Working Conditions:

Field-based role with extended working hours depending on project needs. Requires supervision of multiple crews across different locations. Must be able to work under pressure and in outdoor environments.

Pay: QAR2,500.00 per month
