Position Summary
The Waiter/Waitress is the primary point of contact for our guests, playing a crucial role in shaping their overall dining experience. This position requires a friendly, attentive, and professional individual who excels in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate is dedicated to providing outstanding service, possesses extensive menu knowledge, and works seamlessly with the kitchen and service team to ensure guest satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Guest Service:

• Greet guests warmly, present menus, and answer initial questions.
• Guide guests through the menu, provide accurate descriptions of dishes and beverages, and make thoughtful recommendations.
• Take accurate food and drink orders using a POS (Point of Sale) system or order slips.
• Serve food and beverages promptly and correctly to the right guests.
• Check in with guests throughout their meal to ensure satisfaction and address any needs promptly.
• Handle guest complaints with patience, empathy, and a solutions-oriented approach, escalating to management when necessary.
• Process payments and operate the cash register/POS system accurately.

Teamwork & Operations:

• Set up and break down dining areas before and after service (including polishing cutlery, cleaning tables, etc.).
• Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked service station.
• Collaborate effectively with hosts/hostesses, bussers, bartenders, and kitchen staff to ensure smooth service flow.
• Assist teammates by supporting other sections when needed.
• Follow all opening and closing procedures.

Food Safety & Compliance:

• Adhere to all food safety and sanitation regulations.
• Verify the identification of guests to ensure they are of legal drinking age.
• Serve alcohol responsibly and in accordance with all applicable laws.

Qualifications & Skills
Required:

• Proven experience as a Waiter/Waitress or in a similar customer service role.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to stand, walk, and carry heavy trays for extended periods.
• Positive, customer-focused attitude and a team player mentality.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Basic math skills for handling cash and giving correct change.

Preferred:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of POS systems.
• Extensive knowledge of food and wine pairings, cocktail recipes, and dietary restrictions (e.g., gluten-free, vegan).
• Food handler's or alcohol service certification (e.g., ServSafe, TIPS).
