Waiter / Waitress
Job Overview:
The Waiter/Waitress is the primary point of contact for guests throughout their meal, directly responsible for delivering exceptional and personalized service. This role requires a blend of technical skill, product knowledge, and interpersonal charm to guide the guest's journey, promote menu items, and ensure all their needs are met with efficiency and grace.
Key Responsibilities:

• Guest Service & Engagement:
• Warmly greet guests at their table, introduce yourself, and present menus.
• Possess thorough knowledge of all food and beverage items, including daily specials, to make confident recommendations and answer any questions.
• Guide the guest experience by suggesting appetizers, main courses, desserts, and suitable wine or beverage pairings.
• Take accurate orders and relay them promptly to the kitchen and bar via the POS system.
• Order Execution & Delivery:
• Serve food and beverages according to the establishment's precise service standards (e.g., serving from the correct side, identifying dishes without asking).
• Check in with guests after food delivery to ensure satisfaction and address any immediate concerns.
• Monitor table progress, anticipating needs for refills, additional courses, or clearing finished plates.
• Prepare and present the final check accurately, process payments, and thank guests sincerely as they depart.
• Table & Station Maintenance:
• Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked service station throughout the shift.
• Perform side duties such as polishing cutlery and glassware, folding napkins, and restocking condiments.
• Reset tables efficiently and to a high standard after guests have left, ensuring they are ready for the next seating.
• Assist colleagues with their stations when needed to ensure uniform service across the dining room.
• Teamwork & Communication:
• Work collaboratively with junior waiters (busboys) to ensure tables are cleared and reset promptly.
• Communicate effectively with the kitchen staff regarding timing, special requests, and any allergies.
• Report any guest complaints or issues to the Head Waiter or Manager immediately.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Previous experience as a waiter/waitress in a fast-paced restaurant.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Positive, team-oriented attitude.
• Ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure.
• Strong memory and attention to detail.
• Basic math skills for handling cash and processing payments.
• Knowledge of food safety and hygiene principles.
