Job Summary

Pulsar Communication System is hiring a

VSAT Engineer / Technician

to support

offshore vessels, marine operations, and remote desert camps

.
The role covers

end-to-end VSAT responsibility

, including

site surveys, installation, commissioning, remote monitoring, and customer support

.

Candidates must be comfortable

working alone on-site

and

supporting customers remotely via phone and ticketing systems

.

Key Responsibilities1. Site Survey & Field Engineering

Conduct

VSAT site surveys

(offshore, maritime, remote camps).

Evaluate:

Line of sight Antenna placement & mounting Cable routing, grounding, and safety

Recommend suitable:

Antenna size Ku / Ka band Modem and RF components

2. Installation, Alignment & Commissioning

Install and commission:

Fixed & maritime VSAT antennas BUC, LNB, feed assemblies

Perform:

Satellite acquisition, peaking, and locking Cross-pol and link validation

Commission VSAT systems using:

iDirect

Hughes

Other VSAT platforms (advantage)

3. RF Testing & Troubleshooting

Use

Spectrum analyzer

for:

Carrier identification Interference detection

Verify:

Eb/No, C/N, link stability Troubleshoot RF, modem, antenna, and network faults.

4. Remote Monitoring & Network Operations

Monitor VSAT links using tools such as:

iMonitor

Grafana

DataMiner

Or similar NMS / monitoring platforms Analyze alarms, performance trends, and outages. Take proactive actions to restore or optimize services.

5. Remote Customer Support & Ticketing

Provide

remote technical support

via:

Phone Email Ticketing systems

Handle:

Incident tickets Service requests Escalations Maintain proper documentation and closure reports.

6. Networking & Integration

Configure and troubleshoot basic networking:

IP addressing DNS DHCP LAN/WAN connectivity

Integrate VSAT with:

Routers Firewalls Wi-Fi systems (basic level)

7. Cabling, Termination & Grounding

Crimp and terminate:

RG6 / RG11 coaxial cables

Ensure:

Proper grounding Weatherproofing Cable management standards

Mandatory Requirements (Applications Without These Will Be Rejected)

Experience:

Minimum

2-5 years

in VSAT installation, commissioning & support

Technical Skills:

Satellite lock & antenna peaking Spectrum analyzer operation iDirect, Hughes, or similar VSAT modems

Ku-band & Ka-band

systems

Operations:

Remote support & troubleshooting Ticketing system experience Monitoring tools usage

Work Style:

Able to

work independently

Comfortable in

remote, offshore, and harsh environments

Added Value (Strong Advantage)

Maritime VSAT experience (tracking antennas)

Starlink installation or support experience

Experience with SLA-based support environments Understanding of RF fundamentals & link budgets Basic documentation & reporting skills

Education

Diploma or Bachelor's in:

Telecommunications Electronics Electrical Engineering
(Experience is more important than formal education)

Visa & Joining

UAE experience

not mandatory
