Job Purpose

To understand the purpose of the unit and the role within, let\'s note that the mission of the GCOO Business Management function is to make the GCOO function an enabler of technology and state-of-art processing for our business lines to better serve existing and potential FAB customers, globally. Group Chief Operating Officer\'s Business Management department entails 6 critical functions: * FAB\'s Research and Innovation Center for providing the innovation tools and instilling the innovation culture in the way FAB operates while spearheading the exploration for the cutting-edge tech in banking
  • GCOO Projects and Partnerships for large & cross-functional transformational programs related to Group Tech, Group Operations and Strategic Vendor Management; as well as initiatives in collaboration with strategic 3rd parties
  • Operations Transformation for driving transformation initiatives aligned to GCOO and business priorities aimed to drive efficiency and improve customer satisfaction. This consists of process re-engineering, automation and operating model effectiveness including setting up a structured performance tracking.
  • Group Policy and Procedures for bank-wide process documentation and maintenance
  • GCOO Financial Performance for tracking key financial performance indicators, leading synergy drives and support budgeting
  • GCOO strategy and planning for steering tech and operations teams into the direction set by Group Strategy and aligning goals and team structures accordingly
  • Operations transformation (Ops Transformation) plays a pivotal role in driving strategic initiatives to enhance and optimize our bank\'s operational processes, efficiency, and effectiveness. It is a team of transformation professionals and collaborate closely with cross-functional stakeholders to identify opportunities, implement improvements with technology teams, and ensure seamless data flow and process execution across our operations, while closely collaborating with the respective leaders in the operational verticals within all operational verticals in GCOO division and our vertical business partners
Key Accountabilities
  • Execute the operations transformation Book of Work, the non-BAU mandates set by the N2/N3 level senior leadership in the GCOO division
  • Lead the monthly, quarterly performance review for respective transformation domain to prioritize, measure and deliver results
  • Fully represent the operational vertical[s] assigned in terms of MI ownership and non-BAU project execution perspective
  • Identify operational pain points, inefficiencies, and bottlenecks within the bank\'s processes, and design solutions that enhance customer experiences and drive operational excellence.
  • Implement best practices and methodologies for process improvement, lean operations, and agile project management.
  • Drive improvements in operational process efficiency across multiple geographies, taking into consideration local regulations and market dynamics.
  • In collaboration with DAAI (Digital Automation & Artificial Intelligence) to produce, verify, and visualize Management Information (MI) to provide insights that drive informed decisions for operational teams.
  • Engage and manage relationships with senior stakeholders, including executives, department heads, and external partners, ensuring alignment and support for transformation efforts.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track the progress and success of transformation initiatives, providing regular updates to executive leadership.
  • Collaborate with technology teams to leverage digital tools and platforms that support operational efficiency and enhance customer interactions.
  • Drive the evaluation and implementation of tools and technologies that support process automation and optimization, in collaboration with technology teams.
  • Lead change management efforts, ensuring that employees at all levels are engaged, informed, and equipped to adapt to process improvements.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members, fostering their professional growth and development
  • Act as a key liaison between the Operations Transformation team, technology teams, and other business units, ensuring alignment, collaboration, and effective communication.
  • Produce reports and presentations to communicate progress, results, and insights related to process transformation initiatives to both technology and business stakeholders.
Qualifications

An ideal candidate for the role has the following competencies:
  • Proven leadership: demonstrated experience in leading operational transformation initiatives within a Financial Services and/or large MNC\'s
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Ability to collaborate effectively across departments from front-digital-operations, fostering a cohesive and integrated approach to drive outcomes. Can engage several stakeholders to
  • Analytical skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret and leverage data to drive opportunities for improvement and expedite decision-making.
  • Communication skills: Ability to convey key concepts, problem statements and opportunity cases to gain buy-in from stakeholders across the organization. Good communicator with very high awareness about stakeholder\'s standpoint, who can formulate messaging accordingly. Capable of building relationships and collaborating with stakeholders at and above his/her level.
  • Results-orientated and hands-on delivery: Track record to deliver tangible results in terms of improvement operation performance
  • Team management - Proven competence around managing people and team(s) directly, both on a BAU and temporary basis; in agile and conventional setups
  • Banking & Technologic knowledge: Good understanding of banking segments, domain, product and operations knowledge (Corporate, Consumer), regulatory compliance, and industry trends. Proficiency in leveraging technology and digital solutions to enhance operations.
  • Professional certifications in project management (PMP, Prince2), process improvement (LEAN), change management, Agile and-or related fields are a plus.
An ideal candidate has the following qualifications and experiences.
  • Proven track record of leading successful operations transformation initiatives, driving process optimization, and delivering measurable results.
  • Bachelor\'s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Operations Management, or a related field. MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
  • ~ min 10-15 years of experience in Financial Services, external consultancy and with a substantial amount of experience in business transformation, strategic planning, process improvement or system automation with half or more being in executive and/or consulting roles
Additional Information
  • The job holder will seek guidance and advice from Head of OPS Transformation on business mandates, strategic prioritization, financial control and operational improvements to deliver on department goals and objectives.
  • He/She will engage Business Management leaders in the Business Lines, Heads of Departments, Technology teams, Group Customer Experience & Advocacy teams in the identification and implementation of significant process, technology and people changes of high complexity.
  • This is an execution-focused role; tangible results in operational efficiency and risk mitigation will be key in defining success.
