Job Description

The VP of Finance is in charge of overseeing company financial records and projecting future financial investments and plans and is responsible for supporting the strategic growth of a rapidly changing landscape, making value-added recommendations to enhance the company's general accounting and financial operations in support of aggressive growth.
Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic recommendations to the CEO based on financial analysis and projections, cost identification and revenue/expense analysis.
  • Work closely with the CEO and senior management team to develop and implement the organization's strategic plan.
  • Lead and guide the financial operations of the organization to ensure alignment of financial activities with organizational goals.
  • Oversee and manage the annual financial audit. Ensure strong operational and financial controls and that the highest levels of integrity and transparency are maintained.
  • Manage finance, banking and cash flow to ensure protection of assets, liquidity and efficient operations.
  • Evaluate, develop, implement and lead an effective annual budget process, working closely with the CEO and other senior management; oversee the development, updates and regular assessment of the organizational budget and multi-year financial forecast.
  • Assist in the preparation of grant, contract and consulting proposal budgets and reports, as appropriate.
  • Take overall control of the company's accounting function.
  • Contribute fully to the development of company strategy across all areas of the business, challenging assumptions and decision-making as appropriate and providing financial analysis and guidance on all activities, plans, targets and business drivers.
  • Ensure that company financial systems are robust, compliant and support current activities and future growth.
  • Lead and develop finance teams.
  • Develop and drive necessary financial policies, procedures, and internal controls, and play a leading role in directing change initiatives and process improvements
  • Oversee and assist in tax filings and compliance documentation
  • Improve our internal financial instrumentation & analyse metrics to understand and help to mitigate risk within the company.
  • Conduct a thorough risk review and assessment including but not limited to business coverage operations, financial analysis and projections, risk assessment, and industry risks.
  • Establish and maintain documentation of internal controls, policies, and procedures related to financial reporting and compliance.
  • Manage the financial health of the business by partnering with executives to focus on strong ROI investments and optimizing costs
  • Lead all financial reporting - Monthly, Quarterly, Annually
Requirements
  • At least 15 years of professional experience working in multi-national organizations
  • History of leading Finance Transformation and Technology Implementation.
  • Track record of Leadership in Finance Performance Management, and Project and Program Management.
  • Highly analytical and well-organized person.
  • A logical thinker with experience leading numerous cross-functional projects. Understand finance and financial modeling.
  • Outstanding level of emotional intelligence and excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a team to deliver projects, identify potential risks and bottlenecks and communicate this effectively to the business.
  • Energetic, highly motivated, with an enquiring mind and passion for excellence and innovation in pursuit of business growth and success.
  • Implementation of Finance practices and benchmarking
  • Generate business deals and develop good business proposals
  • Exceptional skills in People Management and maintaining C-suite relationships
  • Good communication and presentation skills
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or any relevant course. Master's Degree is an added asset
  • Relevant professional qualification certificates are a plus point
