DFS is looking for an experienced Visual merchandiser to join our Visual Merchandising team. The visual merchandiser will have active involvement in the local planning, production and physical execution of visual displays, materials and props for both in-house and promotional utilization. Execute all merchandise displays, brand and company image presentations in keeping with company and brand standards. Contribute to the growth and profitability of the company by providing display that will promote incremental sales for the company while in keeping with local needs while reflecting brand and company standards Essential Duties and Responsibilities Visual Merchandising Develop and translate merchandise, brand and stores visual display strategies within advised timelines
Develop new and exciting merchandising stores and lifestyle for approval by VM Manager
Organize and plan job schedules so as to meet deadlines in the most efficient manner
Ensure timely installations of minor and major projects, events, displays and signage requirements under the direction of the Visual Manager
Meet with department managers and agree on job requirements regarding shop and merchandise signage in keeping with company and brand standards
Assist with the training of other location team members as/when required to support the consistent presentation of the store for enjoyment of all customers
Sourcing & Expense Management Direct sourcing and designing of props and display materials under direction of the VM Manager
Secure reasonable quotes of materials and services for display and fittings for approval by VM Manager
Under the direction of the VM Manager, negotiate with contractors and manufacturers to deliver cost effective results and timely execution
Others Maintain knowledge of in-house policy and procedures in line with company requirements
Assist new team members to learn their role
Participate in security spot checks in a co-operative manner
Provide Managers with team and customers’ feedback
Ensure VM areas and store rooms are neat, clean, hazard free and dust-free
Report any location maintenance or health and safety issues to your manager
General duties and tasks as requested by management.
