NYU Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) seeks an entrepreneurial and skilled leader to serve as the Vice Provost for Research Translation and Entrepreneurship. The Vice-Provost for Research Translation and Entrepreneurship (VP-RTE) will provide positive and collaborative leadership in research innovation, translation, industry and community engagement, and enterprise development. They will work closely with the deans and other members of the Provost Office to identify, foster, and promote ideas with potential for translation and positive societal and commercial impact. They will also need to collaborate with similar offices at NYU NY and will require coordination with NYU NY to develop policies and guidelines. A key element will include a strong collaboration with startAD, a global accelerator steering seed-stage technology start-ups in the UAE and with a strong relationship to NYUAD. The VP-RTE will be coming to a university that is growing and ambitious for its future and playing a pivotal role in the development of Abu Dhabi.

The VP-RTE reports to the Provost of NYUAD. The successful candidate will have a record of successful leadership in research and innovation in academia and/or industry. They will bring demonstrated achievements in applied research or translation in any domain relevant to NYUAD, and a commitment to and vision for interdisciplinary activity and global education. Experience in innovation, commercialization, and working in or closely with industry will be a required experience.
The VP-RTE will lead the formulation of strategy and processes to drive forward research innovation, industrial interactions, and enterprise development at NYUAD. They will convene and stakeholders, establish new approaches to grow industry engagement and translation, lead necessary culture changes and promote the University's research activity and its application on national and global stages.
