Job Description

Your role will be to support our long-term growth in the Middle East through the expansion of our footprint in Saudi Arabia where we see a lot of opportunities and potential and the development of successful relationships with your fellow team members, colleagues, prospects, and clients.

Reporting to the Middle East market lead, you will work closely with the team in the UAE and will be supported by a 100-strong Edelman DXI team based in EMEA to write proposals and execute project work covering Saudi Arabia (primary focus) and the UAE.

This role is open to be based in any of Edelman Middle East offices (Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Riyadh) and may accordingly require occasional travel for new business opportunities or client meetings. \

Key Responsibilities
  • Client relationship building:
  • In business, it all starts with relationships. You will:
  • Create, grow, and nurture relationships with Edelman teams and external clients to generate new opportunities and build incremental business
  • Fluently speak the languages of communications, marketing, business, and research - tailoring those communications to audiences at all levels of expertise
  • Establish a reputation as a go-to research expert, both within the Edelman network and directly with clients
  • Research consultancy:
  • Data doesn\'t mean anything on its own - it needs to be collected properly, analysed thoroughly and communicated effectively. You will:
  • Ask the right questions, identify and understand business objectives, and finally scope research to have the most impact
  • Provide strategic counsel to clients through all stages of the research process
  • Identify insights, create narratives, and effectively communicate research results to drive strategy and enable clients to accomplish their business objectives
  • Project & Staff management:
  • It\'s not all strategizing - we need someone who can execute. You will:
  • Scope, lead, and deliver compelling strategic insights, effectively communicate a narrative/story that provides actionable recommendations for the client that are aligned with their business and communications objectives
  • Lead operational and financial performance of account teams, set timelines, and ensure they are met and in a timely manner and appropriately address client requests and incidental events
  • Provide inspiring leadership and mentorship for team members, maintaining a collaborative environment that empowers both direct and indirect reports to move forward along their own career trajectories
Key Skills
  • 8-10 years of relevant experience in market research, data analytics, consumer insights, digital/social research and/or related fields
  • Previous experience in the Middle East business environment
  • Clear and professional written and verbal English communication skills
  • Strong grounding in primary methodologies (e.g. thought leadership development, audience understanding, reputational measurement\xe2\x80\xa6)
  • Previous leadership experience including line management, budget planning and management, and end-to-end delivery of major research projects
  • Previous experience in leading on client pitches and meetings, and developing client relationships, as well as identifying and converting opportunities to paid-for work
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience in advertising, communications, PR, or media environment
  • Secondary research experience (e.g. whitespace mapping, landscape analysis, measurement, influencer identification, benchmarking, trends identification, crisis reporting\xe2\x80\xa6)
  • International research experience (multi-market projects) is a distinct advantage
  • Fluency in Arabic is strongly preferable, but not a necessity for the right candidate
