OVERALL PURPOSE OF ROLE

Support senior product specialists to develop a sustainable client focussed primary Structured Solutions and Bond markets business for MUFG clients in EMEA

MUFG Bank

Work in Private Side Loan Sales team on all aspects relating to distribution processes for all asset classes but with a particular focus on Project Finance, Corporate Finance, Commodity Finance, Fund Finance and Aviation transactions primarily to GCC Based investors. TF Assets will be primary handled by TB MENA, but this position will also support the business

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

MUSE
  • Support local GCC based O&D efforts across all product areas focused on sales to GCC accounts
  • Collaborate with other MUFG teams to optimise financing solutions to meet client needs and the Group\xe2\x80\x99s business development objectives.
  • Build relationships throughout MUFG to establish a peer network, gather relevant information and help to ensure effective inter-departmental collaboration.
  • Provide input on the market environment, reporting and on potential issues/concerns for internal and external communication purposes.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure appropriate engagement and support to develop, secure and maximise distribution opportunities.
  • Offer insights into appetite from GCC based investors when asked or required
  • Act as the first point of contact for technical and stakeholder related issues, liaising with other stakeholders to seek resolution and/or escalating as required.
  • Distribution of Structured Financing & Blended Finance Solutions
MUFG Bank

Support the loan sales activities as they relate to Project Finance, Commodity Finance, Trade Finance and Aviation with supervision and guidance from / in conjunction with the Team Head in the respect of the following:
  • Build working relationship with both internal and external stakeholders, including DCM Bonds and Loans, ESFO, GCIB RMs, ECPMO, as well as clients and investors and other stakeholders as required.
  • Enhance distribution capabilities is essential to create balance sheet capacity and meet the market demand for financing the total project pipeline of $1.6tn between 2024-2030 in the region
  • Help find new pools of investors with ME investment appetite:
  • Infrastructure and PP investors, especially newly set up entities in Dubai/Abu Dhabi
  • Asian/Japanese investors (Banks & Funds)
  • Responsible for local GCC management reporting on Underwriting, O&D and team KPIs, Pitch Books, client briefings/offerings to required standard and timetable as required.
  • Analysis and provision of financing structure commentary, pricing and investor appetite relating to potential transaction opportunities extending, where appropriate, to the provision of underwriting /sell-down support materials for credit approval purposes.
  • Research, preparation and implementation of distribution processes (primary or secondary market) including identification of potential investors and associated appetite / requirements, preparation / collation of transaction launch materials and sell down execution.
  • Assist in ongoing gathering and analysis of general loan market data and investor behaviour with a view to its dissemination to internal stakeholders and senior management with a specific focus on Japanese investors.
  • Develop a practical understanding of all core systems and procedures within Loan Sales and how they link into standard systems in order to respond to enquiries.

PERFORMANCE & DUTIES

The role holder will be assessed in accordance with their employing entities performance framework and process with relevant input obtained from the dual hatting entity as relevant. Sales Credit Targets will be set by the Line Manager on an annual basis in conjunction with team wide targets. As duties and responsibilities change, the job description will be reviewed and emended in consultation with the role holder. The role holder will carry out other duties as are within the scope, spirit and purpose of the role as requested by their line manager or Department Head.

MANAGING CONFLICTS OF INTEREST
  • The role holder will have responsibilities for both MUFG Bank and MUFG Securities EMEA plc.
  • The role holder will be required to perform their duties and responsibilities on an entity neutral basis, without favour.
  • The role holder is required to follow regulatory requirements applicable to ensure each business is appropriately supported and to maintain the legal entity integrity of each of MUFG Bank and MUS.
  • Working terms are dictated by functional mandates, the terms of the Dual-Hat Arrangement Agreement in place between MUFG Bank and MUFG Securities EMEA plc and any other relevant agreements entered into between MUFG Bank and MUFG Securities EMEA plc.
  • The role holder will have responsibility for identifying and resolving where there may be a difference or conflict in needs between MUFG Bank and MUFG Securities EMEA plc, escalating to their manager where required.
