This is a senior ER role which requires leading and managing ER cases including regulatory / market misconduct, sexual harassment, complaints, grievances, whistleblowing cases and from time to time, support the Legal team in significant, high profile litigation cases. The Bank requires a senior ER specialist with strong stakeholder management skills at all levels of the organisation and deep ER subject matter expertise to provide crisis-response capability and ER advisory support.
Effective stakeholder management will be essential for the role as interaction with various senior leaders, including partnering closely with control function heads will be required.
Investigating and/or overseeing investigation of HR/ER cases in consultation with HR (primarily cases in relation to Bullying, Harassment, victimization and retaliation)
Managing disciplinary, performance improvement and grievance management procedures appropriately
Partnering/Supporting other investigative functions including the Central Investigations Function and Group Audit in relation to their investigations
Provide timely ER support and advice in respect of global and local:
+ regulatory requests
+ ongoing changes in regulatory requirements,
+ regulatory inspections and audits, vis-a-vis key MEA locations, with a focus on financial regulatory activity Delivering appropriate ER solutions together with the Business management, HRBP and Legal in accordance with Deutsche Bank policy and values and, where applicable, regulatory requirements
Ensuring through strong partnership across the franchise that HR Business Partners and other Deutsche Bank employees are able to recognize conduct issues that need to be brought to ER's attention
Ensuring implementation of ER recommendations in conjunction with HR Business Partners and Business stakeholders
Partnering with the global ER team where required to review existing policies, procedures and guidelines and drafting /providing input into new ones
Presenting training/briefing sessions to HR colleagues & delivering ER training for Business Managers to develop line management expertise and capability
Compiling Management Information to facilitate trend analysis and reporting
Subject Matter expert - fully understand existing law and remain abreast of changing laws
Identifying trends and best practices in ER and Legal, developing solutions to prevent further occurrences
Representing ER in Deutsche Bank projects, such as a review of employee orientation process, review of training products and various tasks of this type.
Skills/Knowledge/Experience
Experience of dealing with all levels of the organisation including Executive Committee (Ex Co) members.
Sound stakeholder management skills at all levels of the organisation with demonstrated competencies including influencing, communication, relationship management, conflict management and internal business networking will all feature heavily in this role.
Significant experience as an HR Professional with specific employee relations and/or industrial relations expertise and/or a lawyer or legal advisor.
Experience of managing complex cases including disciplinary, grievance and harassment
Legal knowledge, drafting/documentation and report writing skills.
Issue recognition, investigative, analytical, mediation and sound judgement skills.
Excellent communication skills, especially written and good presentation skills.
Sound Judgement and ability to make decisions independently
Ability to work in pressurized time periods and in a virtual work environment
Ability to effectively manage and coordinate large groups of senior stakeholders
