Job Description

The Hills Veterinary Clinic is looking for Veterinary Nurse with the following responsibilities:

Responsibilities:

Assist veterinarians during consultations by restraining animals, taking vital signs, and preparing the examination room. Prepare and maintain surgical instruments and equipment, ensuring they are sterilized and ready for use. Assist during surgeries by monitoring anesthesia, passing instruments to the surgeon, and providing general support. Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed by the veterinarian. Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including treatment notes and medical histories. Educate pet owners on general pet care, post-operative care, and medication administration. Clean and sanitize examination rooms, surgical areas, and equipment to maintain a safe and hygienic environment. Handle and restrain animals safely and compassionately. Perform routine laboratory tests and diagnostic procedures, such as blood draws and urinalysis. Assist with inventory management, including ordering and stocking supplies.
Qualifications:

Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Veterinary Assistant. Strong knowledge of veterinary procedures, medical terminology, and animal handling techniques. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Compassionate and patient approach to handling animals and interacting with pet owners. Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team. Basic computer skills for maintaining electronic medical records.
