Plug and Play Abu Dhabi, our GCC headquarter, is driven to create the largest and most seamless B2B marketplace for startups, corporations and government entities in the GCC to drive digital transformation in critical sectors through join pilots, POC, co-creation, investment, acquisitions and anything in between. After 3 successful year in Abu Dhabi and the GCC, we have growth from strength to strength establishing partnerships and program within our local Fintech, HealthTech and Industry 4.0 verticals.
WHO WERE LOOKING FOR:
The Venture Analyst role is a key entry level position on the Ventures Team. We are looking for someone who will take a key leading role in the sourcing, screening and selection of startups joining our different accelerators in the UAE, especially the Fintech and Industry 4.0 Programs based in Abu Dhabi.
The Venture Analyst will also be a key local expert in sourcing and assessing MENA startups for Plug and Plays venture capital investment.
The Ventures Anaylst will play an important role within the accelerator team to support the delivery of some of the key content (e.g. support in some coaching and mentoring), and logistics linked to program/client success activities (e.g. startup dealflows and workshops).
This role provides the unique opportunity to support the development of tech entrepreneurs and the tech startup ecosystem in the UAE through a new high-profile Seed Accelerator.
The Venture Analysts main scope of work will include:

• Lead Accelerator Startup Sourcing & Screening: You will be working to enhance the quantity and quality of the pipeline of startups applying to our UAE accelerators, especially the Fintech & Industry 4.0 programs. You will also be supporting our UAE Program Manager to sourcing and screen startups that match the specific needs of our partners outside of our accelerator programs.
• Support Startup Coaching & Mentorship: Periodically supporting startups in their business, investment and skills development e.g. outlining and scheduling potential dealflows; tracking their targets and progress; connecting them with potential mentors; or proposing short workshops or activities to help polish their skills
• Investor Networking: You will be actively working with our regional ventures team to develop our network of VC, angel and other potentially relevant investors that may be of benefit for the cohort of startups to be exposed to.
• Investment Sourcing & Recommendations: You will help support and lead deal sourcing and due diligence for our venture capital investment arm focusing mainly on MENA startups.

Technical & Job-level skills required:

• Bachelors degree required; Masters, Finance or Investment background is a plus
• Advanced problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically, analytically, and creatively
• Highly organized, shown to meet tight deadlines along with consistent accuracy and attention to detail
• Proficiency in Google Docs, MS Office, CRMs, project management tools, etc.
• Intermediate spreadsheet experience (formulas, dashboards, charts, pivots and analysis)

Soft Skills:

• Self-motivated and driven; proven to work independently, prioritize work and achieve results
• Exceptional interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to communicate with C-suite executives
• Collaborative, diplomatic, and can cross-functionally partner with stakeholders across multiple offices
• Experience in/comfort with a role with a degree of ambiguity, requiring proactive analysis and action
• Strong desire to learn continually and grow professionally, driven to master the products they're supporting/offering
• Professional written and verbal communication skills - English (necessary) and Arabic (highly desired)
