Deputy Lead - Venture Capital Investments
Overview
A well-capitalised and fast-growing investment platform is seeking a Deputy Lead for Venture Capital Investments to support and partner closely with the Head of Venture Capital. The role will play a critical part in shaping and executing the VC strategy, leading transactions, and helping to scale the venture platform across priority sectors and geographies.
Key Responsibilities

• Partner with the VC Lead to define and refine venture investment strategy, sector focus, and portfolio construction

Lead end-to-end venture transactions, including sourcing, diligence, valuation, structuring, and execution
Act as a senior investment voice on investment committee discussions and recommendations * Build and maintain deep relationships with founders, co-investors, accelerators, VCs, and ecosystem participants
Proactively source proprietary and high-conviction venture opportunities
Represent the platform within regional and global venture ecosystems * Oversee portfolio companies alongside founders and boards, providing strategic and commercial support
Monitor performance, milestones, follow-on funding, and exit readiness
Support value-creation initiatives across portfolio companies, including growth strategy, governance, and capital planning
Act as a deputy to the VC Lead, supporting decision-making, prioritisation, and team development
Mentor junior investment professionals and contribute to building scalable investment processes
Play a key role in establishing the platform's reputation as a long-term, founder-aligned venture investor
Candidate Specification:
Strong venture capital or growth equity investment experience, with a demonstrable track record of executed deals
Deep understanding of technology-enabled business models and venture economics
Comfortable operating at both strategic and execution levels
Proven ability to engage credibly with founders, co-investors, and senior stakeholders
Prior experience in the Middle East or emerging venture ecosystems preferred but not essential
