Vehicle & Equipment Denter
Overview:
A Vehicle & Equipment Denter is a skilled tradesperson responsible for repairing dents, creases, and other damage to the body of vehicles and heavy equipment. They work to restore the metal bodywork to its original shape and contour without compromising its structural integrity.
Key Responsibilities:

• Damage Assessment: Inspect vehicles and equipment to identify the extent and type of damage.
• Dent Repair: Use specialized tools like hydraulic jacks, hammers, dollies, and pullers to massage, pull, and reshape damaged metal panels to their original form.
• Component Removal/Installation: Remove parts like trim, panels, lights, and accessories to access damaged areas and reinstall them after repair.
• Frame Straightening: Use computerized measuring systems and frame racks to identify and correct misalignments in the vehicle or equipment frame.
• Filling and Sanding: Apply body fillers to minor imperfections and sand surfaces to create a smooth base for painting.
• Welding and Cutting: Perform welding (MIG, TIG, or arc) to repair or replace severely damaged sections of metal.
• Adherence to Standards: Ensure all repairs meet safety and quality standards set by the company and manufacturers.

Skills & Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a vocational or technical school program in auto body repair is preferred.
• Proven experience as a denter, auto body technician, or similar role.
• Proficiency in using dent removal tools, frame straightening equipment, and welding gear.
• Keen eye for detail and a strong understanding of vehicle and equipment anatomy.
• Physical strength and stamina to handle heavy parts and work in various positions.
