Job Description

Urgent requirement for a VDI Architect in Qatar on a 12 month contract for a major IT vendor.

The VDI Architect will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) environment. The ideal candidate should have strong technical skills and experience with VDI technologies and architecture.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and implement virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) solutions using industry best practices
Develop architecture blueprints and detailed documentation for VDI solutions
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure VDI infrastructure is integrated and aligned with overall technology strategy and business objectives
Develop and maintain technical standards, policies, and procedures for VDI infrastructure
Provide technical support for VDI infrastructure, including troubleshooting, problem resolution, and performance tuning
Collaborate with security and compliance teams to ensure VDI solutions meet security and compliance requirements
Evaluate new VDI technologies and products, and make recommendations on their implementation and integration into the existing infrastructure

Requirements:

Bachelor\'s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
5+ years of experience in VDI architecture and implementation
Strong technical knowledge of VDI solutions such as VMware Horizon, Citrix XenDesktop/XenApp, Microsoft Remote Desktop Services, and VDI hardware
Experience with VDI infrastructure design, implementation, and management
Experience with VDI automation and scripting using PowerShell or other scripting languages
Knowledge of VDI security, compliance, and regulatory requirements
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred:

Experience with cloud-based VDI solutions such as Microsoft Azure Virtual Desktop (formerly Windows Virtual Desktop)
Certifications in VDI technologies such as VMware Certified Professional (VCP), Citrix Certified Expert \xe2\x80\x93 Virtualization (CCE-V), or Microsoft Certified: Windows Virtual Desktop Specialty
