Job Summary

The Upholstery Technician will specialize in repairing, restoring, and customizing vehicle interiors, including seats, dashboards, and trim, using high-quality materials and techniques to ensure durability and aesthetic appeal. This role requires hands-on expertise in upholstery work, attention to detail, and the ability to meet quality standards in a fast-paced garage environment.

Key Responsibilities

Inspect interiors to assess damage and recommend repairs or replacements. Remove, repair, or install components like seats, headliners, carpets, and panels. Select and apply fabrics, leathers, vinyls, and materials for aesthetic matching or enhancement. Use tools such as sewing machines, staples, adhesives, and cutters for precise work. Collaborate with teams to integrate upholstery with vehicle repairs. Maintain clean workspace and follow safety protocols. Ensure work meets quality standards and customer expectations. Stay current on automotive upholstery trends and techniques.

Qualifications

2+ years in automotive upholstery or fabrication; garage or dealership experience preferred. Knowledge of upholstery materials, tools, and techniques for vehicle interiors. Strong manual dexterity, detail orientation, and problem-solving skills. Familiarity with safety standards and basic automotive systems. Valid driver's license and clean record preferred. High school diploma; technical certification advantageous. Independent and team-oriented. Committed to professional development.
