Purpose
Cigna continues to expand across the Middle East and Africa region through an innovative array of products that meet the growing needs of the health insurance market. The underwriting team has played a key role in this success of Cigna MEA and are looking to recruit a lead underwriter to join the team based in Dubai. The lead underwriter is expected to collaborate with commercial teams to ensure profitable growth of the portfolio, work on new business quotes and renewal of existing clients, and develop pricing strategies for book-rated portfolio.
Key Responsibilities

• Develop pricing strategies for various MEA book-rated products through in-depth analysis of the portfolio * Evaluate, price and modify plan design for renewals and new business on large corporate quotations in compliance with underwriting authorities * Build effective relationship with sales and client management partners to win and retain business * Liaise with actuaries to analyze portfolio performance, and agree on pricing strategy * Collaborate with product, operations and clinicals team to ensure the Africa products are up-to-date, and continue to meet market needs * Develop tools and dashboard to track performance of MEA portfolio * Own all reporting requirements for MEA * Act as underwriting's central point of contact for all related projects, and actively contribute to those projects * Be market aware; understand competitive and regulatory landscape.

Education and Experience

• 8+ years of insurance experience in health underwriting and portfolio management * Bachelor's degree in finance, mathematics, engineering, actuarial or similar * Advanced user of Microsoft Excel; Exposure to Tableau or Power BI * Data analytics and process improvement

• Leadership and risk assessment skills * Commercial mindset * High level of numeracy & accuracy * Excellent negotiation and communication skills * Ability to take ownership and effective time management * Manage stake holder expectations and deliver under pressure
