Overview of the role:

The Analyst - Business Solutions role is to proactively support the delivery, development, and support of all Business Solution deliverables. \xe2\x80\x9cBusiness solutions\xe2\x80\x9d is a department that has been primarily setup to deliver the organization\'s data and MIS requirements.

Primary Responsibilities Include:
  • Continually develop and enhance the ETL/ELT processes process to collect and transform data for it to be used in reporting tools such as Tableau / Power BI
  • Analyse multiple sources of data to propose and design data architecture solutions for performance, scalability, high availability, and fault tolerance
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their reporting requirements and support the team in bringing them to fruition through collaboration
  • Fully understand the 3 other core processes (ETL, Audit/History, and Maintenance) that are required to run the data warehouse
  • Support the team in designing and developing operational reports and dashboards in BI tools such as Tableau / Power BI
  • Support the team in building and enhancing self-service BI capability of the overall department
  • Enhance data management capabilities of the department through various activities such as data quality management and metadata management
What you will do:

Data Engineering
  • Research and evaluate data to make recommendations to management about ways to improve data storage, reporting, and other business issues
  • Source and integrate data from various data sources including different line of business systems and flat files
  • Design, develop and maintain data integration and ingestion processes by building ETL pipelines
  • Create and optimize relational data models for storage and reporting purposes
  • Improvement in the percentage of uptime for systems and data pipelines
  • Reduction in the number of errors and incidents per month
  • Driving business efficiency through automation and streamlining of existing manual data-based activities
  • Support in the development of data warehouse solution that is optimized for analytics and reporting purposes
Data Analytics
  • Build dashboards and advanced visualisations in Tableau/Power BI with a focus on accuracy, UX, simplicity and usability
  • Work with other departments (Sales, Credit, Risk, Collections and Operations) on fine tuning the existing reports and developing new reports
  • Analyse and document internal client requirements for BI; and design, develop, and maintain solutions within the BI technical stack
  • Quality and quantity of deliverables and insights generated over time
  • Improvement in user engagement and usage of reports through enhancement of accuracy and adequate communication.
  • Improvement in speed and turnaround time of generating results and deliverables for stakeholders
  • Improvement in self-service BI capability and reduction in number of ad-hoc report requests
Data Management and Governance
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for data quality, metadata management and for Enterprise Data Management standards and policies
  • Subjective insights from data users on the quality of data sets and products
  • Tracking the number of incidents related to data quality issue
  • Supporting the team in building a data dictionary / business glossary for the department
Required Skills to be successful:
  • Deep expertise in SQL including joins, aggregations, views and stored procedures
  • Expertise in logical and physical data modelling for relational databases (ERDs, normalization, relationships, constraints etc.)
  • Expertise in ETL/ELT development and managing data pipelines using tools such as Alteryx, SSIS, Talend or similar
  • Experience in designing and developing reports and dashboards using BI tools such as Tableau and Power BI
  • Knowledge of database performance and tuning, troubleshooting and query optimization
  • Solid understanding of data visualization best practices
Desirables:
  • Hands-on experience with architecture, design, and development of data warehouses
  • Understanding of main data management and governance principles, including security, data quality and metadata management
  • Experience in scripting languages (Python, VBA) to automate manual tasks
  • Experience in Process Automation tools like Power Automate to automate manual tasks
What equips you for the role:
  • Bachelors\' degree or a in quantitative field such as Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science or equivalent functional experience
  • 3-5 years\' relevant experience in the data field
