Job Description

Inspect tires for wear, damage, and proper inflation. Identify and report tire issues such as punctures, cracks, or uneven tread wear. Repair punctured or damaged tires using patching, plugging, or vulcanizing methods. Remove and replace worn or defective tires on vehicles, including light vehicles, trucks, and heavy equipment. Mount new tires onto rims and balance them to ensure smooth and safe operation. Use specialized tools and equipment for accurate fitting and balancing. Perform tire rotation as part of preventive maintenance. Assist with wheel alignment checks and adjustments if required. Maintain proper tire inflation using air gauges and inflation tools. Ensure tires are filled to the recommended pressure for vehicle type and load requirements. Maintain accurate records of tire repairs, replacements, and inspections. Report tire usage, stock levels, and requirements to the supervisor or workshop manager. Monitor tire inventory and organize tire storage areas. Assist in receiving, labeling, and storing new tire stock. Follow all safety procedures and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). Ensure that tools and work areas are maintained in a clean and safe condition. Respond to tire-related breakdowns or service calls at site locations or on the road. Ensure timely and efficient tire service to minimize vehicle downtime.
