Test and Measuring Equipment Cell/PTT (TMEC) Support Technician Supervisor Grade: 7 Location: Taif, Saudi Arabia JOB PURPOSE BAE Systems is the UK Government's nominated Prime Contractor under the Government-to-Government arrangements that are in place to provide equipment, support and training to Saudi Arabia. We provide maintenance of Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) aircraft and train RSAF and Royal Saudi Naval Force personnel safely in a training environment in how to use their aircraft, equipment and weapons. The Test & Measuring Equipment Cell Technician Supervisor is responsible to the TMEC Supervisor for the management and supervisory activities related to Typhoon Specialist Test equipment and Calibration. He is also responsible for co-ordinating & delivering Wiring Husbandry awareness briefings & providing familiarisation training and control of all Precision Termination Tools.

The Job Holder will have full deputised responsibility as the focal point for all queries on PTT, Test & Calibrated equipment, its control and maintenance and on the implementation of quality assurance and control measures associated with Test & Calibrated equipment.

The Job Holder will have the responsibility for preparation, collection & return of equipment to and from the KSA base user sections and managing the serviceability categorisation status utilising the approved data toolset. JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES · Management and maintaining a register of all calibrated items held at KFdAB (in support of the service operations). · Management and Maintaining records to show that the scheduled maintenance of all Calibrated items has been planned effectively and undertaken in suitable timescales to meet RSAF requirements. · Support to co-ordination of quarantine action or collection & return of equipment with end user areas · Ensure that QC measures are in place · Ensure that the Calsum is up to date and challenge the TSC through agreed processes if it is not. · Ensure that all personnel using calibrated items are aware of the Calibration area and responsibilities. · Ensure that all personnel using test equipment are aware of the test Equipment area and responsibilities. · Ensure that calibrated items are correctly marked/labelled. · Ensure that test equipment correctly marked/labelled · Develop a reporting mechanism for near / out of calibration equipment · Develop a reporting mechanism for serviceability of test equipment · Act as point of contact for Calibration within the Typhoon operations service · Act as point of contact for Test Equipment within the Typhoon operations service · Maintain distribution lists of inventory holders of calibrated items and test equipment · Maintain a close working relationship with inventory holders of calibrated items and test equipment on all aspects of supply, repair and exchange · Maintain a register of all PTT held at KFdAB including their GO-NO-GO gauges whilst ensuring they are uniquely serial numbered and marked in accordance with (iaw) RSAF regulations. · Maintain records to show that the scheduled maintenance of all PTT and annual dimension checks of their GO-NO-GO gauges have been completed. RECRUITMENT SPECIFICATION Essential Must be educated to ONC level or recognised equivalent or have relevant experience supported by formal, recorded workplace applied related training. Must have completed a recognised aircraft engineering apprenticeship in industry/military or similar qualification in aircraft Electrical or Avionic engineering. Held the rank of JNCO or SNCO or a civilian equivalent in a Supervisory/Junior Management role. Must have completed Aircraft Type Specific training on modern 3rd or 4th generation aircraft with extensive proven experience of working as either an Aircraft Electrician or Avionics Technician Desirable Extensive proven post qualification experience of military fast jet maintenance support, at technician level within an operational military flying environment. Proven experience in TMEC and/or PTT environment in support of 3rd or 4th Generation military fast jet aircraft (may be concurrent with the above). Broad aerospace and defence company/industry knowledge. An understanding of RAF and /or RSAF engineering operating procedures. Previous instructional duties or experience of providing formal training to technicians. Understanding of the RSAF Regulatory Framework is desirable though, for the right candidate, on-the-job training will be provided RECRUITMENT A recognised formal qualification in the field of Aircraft Electrical or Avionics trade. Previous experience of undertaking calibration co-ordination and an understanding of test and measurement techniques and processes. Previous experience gained within a Supervisory or Junior Management role. Previous experience of undertaking PTT co-ordination support activities and Aircraft Wiring Husbandry and Integrity. Suitably skilled in the use of general IT software tools. Effective presentation skills and well-developed problem solving skills. Ability to plan, direct and prioritise workload in advance to support aircraft operational requirements.
