Typhoon Fabrication Senior Supervisor Grade: 6 Location: Taif, Saudi Arabia JOB PURPOSE BAE Systems is the UK Government's nominated Prime Contractor under the Government-to-Government arrangements that are in place to provide equipment, support and training to Saudi Arabia. We provide maintenance of Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) aircraft and train RSAF and Royal Saudi Naval Force personnel safely in a training environment in how to use their aircraft, equipment and weapons. The Job Holder is responsible for leading the shift of Fabrications tradesmen. Controlling and supervising personnel and resources pertinent to Fabrications trade. To ensure that continuing airworthiness and maintenance activities are carried out in accordance with BAE Systems Saudi Arabia SALAM Maintenance Organisation Exposition and associated Quality Management System. To certify, within the terms of the authorisations issued, that maintenance has been carried out in accordance with the relevant approved data. The jobholder will supervise BAE Systems staff, Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) personnel and perform mentoring and consolidation development of these tradesmen in the Depth Maintenance environment. JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES Deputising for the area Superintendent in their absence Managing their available manpower by co-ordinating with their area Supervisors to ensure aircraft support and MOF/ILOC tasking requirements are achieved this includes: Leave Shift allocation Support to Forward maintenance Standbye duty Managing their manpower to ensure adherence to the use of approved data; Submission of TQs and TPRFs; Spares demands are accurate and review of FDDs to meet aircraft operations; Ensure shift handovers are carried out without ambiguity; Adherence to tool control procedures and carry out random checks of the assigned specialist tool kits (10% checks, damaged tools etc); Adherence to good husbandry practices by carrying out random post maintenance reviews of the work area; Review of engineering authorisations and ensure that personnel are re-trained/re-authorised to maintain efficient support to the operation; Carry out independent checks of ESS for consistency and accuracy; Support the Depth MM in addressing any QA or higher HQ reports including investigations; Ensuring sufficient spare aircraft components are available to support the operation and liaise with logistics support for replacements as required; Support and promote the 'spot it report it', SORT and FOD prevention programmes; Liaise with the training department and co-ordinate RSAF consolidation training within their trade; Providing coaching and mentoring for assigned BAE Systems SA and RSAF personnel including annual EPDRs; Ensuring personal standards are maintained and adherence to the CoC and RBC by their assigned manpower; Monitor aircraft components for repeat or recurring defects and previous maintenance actions already taken; Monitor negative trends in manpower or maintenance that could impact the safety of the operation; Provide assistance as the SME for their trade in troubleshooting/fault finding as necessary; Provide support to any aircraft deployments or detachments by allocating resource and co-ordinating Tool/Spares requirements; Monitoring DLF availability and identifying new candidates and bag sizes when necessary; Support the Depth MM in the management of the facilities by reporting any defects; Raising any ROID or deficiency paperwork for items received from supply that are damaged or considered not fit for purpose; Welfare and discipline of all assigned PC staff under their control in conjunction with other Management and Supervisory Staff: Completing any other reasonable duties or requests that are made by your line management Counterpart development of assigned RSAF personnel to achieve 2nd and 3rd Signatures levels RECRUITMENT SPECIFICATION Essential Proven potential/actual managerial & supervisory ability in a high tempo aircraft maintenance delivery driven environment. Must be educated to HNC level or recognised equivalent or have relevant experience supported by formal, recorded workplace applied related training. Must have Successfully completed a recognised aircraft engineering apprenticeship or similar practical aircraft maintenance training programme delivered by a NATO air force or approved aircraft maintenance training provider. Extensive proven post qualification experience of military fast jet maintenance support, at a certifying position. Extensive experience working as a supervisor of tradesmen maintaining Typhoon equipment. Vast experience with structural repairs. Desirable Thorough understanding of company processes and procedures and industry knowledge. An understanding of engineering operating procedures. Proven Managerial experience within the aerospace industry preferably gained on Typhoon aircraft components. Experience of working in the aviation industry in a Gulf Coast Country preferred. The ability to act upon their own initiative within the scope of their job. A conscientious approach to work and meticulous attention to detail. A track record of meeting strict deadlines without compromising standards and quality RECRUITMENT The job holder should have the following background: Currently working in an aircraft maintenance organisation conducting or supporting Depth Maintenance of military fast-jets (Typhoon preferred). Proven track record supervising a team and managing associated resource requirements at 'shift manager' level, maintaining military fast jet aircraft (Typhoon preferred). Excellent man management and people development competencies. Management experience with proven ability to manage junior engineering personnel. High level of interpersonal skill to co-ordinate a large number of diverse and complex activities and the ability to communicate, influence and direct the decision making process at all levels. Experience of multi-tasking to manage a diverse range of engineering and management activities. Demonstrable experience working as a supervisor and technician conducting Depth Maintenance on a busy, military operational flying unit. Fully conversant with European Aviation Safety Agency aircraft maintenance regulations or military equivalents such as UK MoD Defence Standard 05-130. Experience working in a multicultural environment maintaining aircraft & component systems. Experience as a mentor, coach or instructor in an aircraft maintenance environment. Experience conducting Depth Maintenance of aircraft & components in a Gulf Coast Country.
