The Travel and Tourism Teacher role involves the delivery of assigned accredited curriculum along with preparing teaching materials and contributing to the development of curriculum and assessment instruments.
Responsibilities for the Travel and Tourism Teacher position include:
Teach and assess competencies in a range of business related areas
Advise and assist students to develop their educational and career plans
Understanding of all roles and functions in industry and specifically in their particular skills sector
Manage, teach, train, guide and assess students in the work place as well as in class
Transfer skills and knowledge to candidates that can be applied directly in the workplace
Successful teaching and assessing experience in a range of areas using a range of assessment tools within the specific discipline(s)
Lesson planning for the delivery of allocated curriculum
Assessing students work and providing feedback in an accurate and timely manner
Commitment to continued professional development to further personal knowledge, skills and abilities
Monitoring and accurately recording student attendance, student progress and achievement
Exhibiting behaviors and attitudes that provide a role-model for students
Assisting in supporting program quality assurance processes e.g. internal verification and standardization of assessment judgement
Health and Safety of students and the classroom environment
Requirements for the Travel and Tourism Teacher position include:
Bachelor Degree in Tourism, Hospitality or Customer Services, Bachelor of Education or relevant
Post Graduate or Master Degree in Tourism, Hospitality or Education preferred
