Our client is a prominent Civil Engineering company in Abu Dhabi, specializing in the planning, design, and implementation of large-scale transportation infrastructure projects. They are committed to developing sustainable and efficient transportation solutions that contribute to the region's growth and development. They are seeking a highly experienced Transportation Engineer to lead their transportation projects.
Job Summary:
The Transportation Engineer will be responsible for the planning, design, and management of transportation infrastructure projects, including roads, highways, bridges, and traffic management systems. This individual will apply their extensive experience to develop innovative and sustainable transportation solutions, ensuring compliance with local regulations and international standards. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of transportation engineering principles, extensive experience in the UAE, and excellent communication skills in English.
Responsibilities:

• Transportation Planning & Design:

• Develop transportation master plans and feasibility studies.
• Design road and highway alignments, intersections, and interchanges.
• Conduct traffic impact assessments and develop traffic management plans.
• Design bridge structures and related infrastructure.
• Develop sustainable transportation solutions, including public transit and pedestrian/bicycle facilities.
• Traffic Engineering & Management:

• Conduct traffic analysis and modelling using relevant software (e.g., PTV Vissim, Synchro).
• Design traffic signal systems and intelligent transportation systems (ITS).
• Develop traffic management plans for construction zones and special events.
• Analyze and improve traffic flow and safety.
• Develop and implement traffic safety audits.
• Project Management & Execution:

• Manage and oversee transportation projects, ensuring adherence to project timelines and budgets.
• Coordinate with clients, contractors, and regulatory authorities.
• Conduct site inspections and monitor construction progress.
• Ensure compliance with local regulations (DMT, etc.) and international standards.
• Technical Reporting & Documentation:

• Prepare technical reports, proposals, and presentations.
• Document project designs, calculations, and specifications.
• Maintain accurate project records and data.
• Develop and maintain databases of transportation data.
• Communication & Collaboration:

• Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and internal teams in English.
• Collaborate with other engineers and urban planners.
• Provide technical training and support.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Transportation Engineering.
• 10-15 years of experience as a Transportation Engineer, with a focus on road and highway design.
• Extensive experience in the UAE transportation sector.
• Strong knowledge of traffic engineering and transportation planning principles.
• Proficiency in traffic analysis and modelling software (PTV Vissim, Synchro).
• Experience with road and bridge design software (AutoCAD Civil 3D, etc.).
• Understanding of local regulations (DMT, etc.) and international standards for transportation projects.
• Excellent project management and problem-solving skills.
