The Transportation Coordinator is responsible for managing and overseeing the transportation of workers, materials, and office staff for the construction company. This role includes arranging vehicles, scheduling transportation, monitoring fuel consumption, and ensuring drivers adhere to company policies and timing requirements. The coordinator plays a key role in optimizing transportation efficiency while maintaining cost control and compliance with safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Arrange and schedule transportation for workers, construction materials, and office staff.
Ensure availability of vehicles as per project requirements.
Assign and manage drivers, ensuring proper route planning and timely pickups/drop-offs.
Monitor vehicle maintenance schedules to avoid breakdowns and delays.
Oversee driver performance, attendance, and compliance with company policies.
Assign duties and shifts to drivers for efficient transportation management.
Ensure drivers follow safety regulations, traffic rules, and company guidelines.
Handle driver-related concerns, including disciplinary actions if needed.
Track and monitor fuel usage to ensure cost-effective operations.
Maintain records of fuel consumption, mileage, and expenses.
Identify opportunities for cost-saving and fuel efficiency improvements.
Work closely with site supervisors, procurement teams, and HR for transportation planning.
Coordinate with vendors and rental service providers for additional vehicle requirements.
Communicate schedules, route changes, and updates to drivers and employees.
Maintain accurate records of vehicle usage, driver logs, and transportation expenses.
Ensure compliance with transportation regulations and company policies.
Generate reports on transportation efficiency, costs, and performance for management review.
Requirements & Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or relevant diploma in Logistics, Transport Management, or a related field (preferred).
Proven experience in transportation coordination, preferably in a construction or logistics company.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to manage multiple transportation needs and adjust schedules as required.
Proficiency in using transport management software and Excel.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Knowledge of vehicle maintenance, fuel management, and route optimization.
