JOB PURPOSE

To coordinate the movement of the trucks and follow up on the execution of the deliveries.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The job holder has to coordinate and execute the daily transportation schedule/plan set by the supervisor in charge to ensure timely and safe transportation at all times. The job holder has to ensure the drivers know the cargo description they are transporting (size, height, weight, etc...), ensure they know the location they are heading to as well as the requested date and time of delivery and ensure that drivers know the route to follow. The job holder has to ensure timely and sound deliveries, he has to ensure the daily check lists (safe loading C.L./Container C.L./etc...), is being maintained and followed as per company policy and procedures. The job holder has to provide supervision and direction to the drivers including on time POD collection. The job holder has to ensure safe loading and transportation of cargo at all times. The job holder has to update and send the daily reports. (DAILY PORT OPERATION - CMR - POD - etc...) The job holder is responsible for the movement of the trucks and coordination between the drivers and the loading and delivery representatives. His responsibilities rely in taking decisions relating to safety of cargo loading, punctuality. The job holder will be supervised by the Transport Supervisor on daily basis. The job holder has to communicate and follow up with the Customers on Delivery Schedule. The job holder should have excellent customer service skills, establishes and maintains effective working relationships with other employees, colleagues and clients. Perform other tasks as assigned.
