Purpose Reporting to Senior Management, the Manager/Deputy Manager, Tournament Bus Services Operations is responsible for;
Ensuring the set up of assigned Bus Space matching the planned design
Managing the service to ensure an efficient and successful operation is executed and;
Training and managing the Workforce onsite and guiding/supporting TBS Drivers
The operational locations of TBS services are across all Stadiums, Transport Hubs, Metro Stations, Park & Rides, Bus Staging, Airport, Accommodation & Central Doha. This position could be assigned to a single location or could be assigned to multiple areas dependent on the needs of the Tournament and operation. Qualifications
University Degree required
Fluent in English (fluent in Arabic a plus)
Event Experience
Minimum 5-10 years of progressive responsibilities and work-related experience, and any combination of education and training, which provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job, combined with demonstrated professional growth and achievement
Previous involvement in planning and operating complex events in size and nature of a FIFA World Cup
Primary Duties
Plan and deliver a smooth operation at assigned location ensuring the safe & efficient movement of a large number of Buses
Oversee load zone operations by counting passengers from queuing to boarding Buses to ensure maximum occupancy while avoiding overloading
Management and training of all Staff to ensure competency for a complex operation as these Staff will be providing clients/spectators with TBS transport specific information, for e.g. times, routes & locations of services
Management of TBS Drivers ensuring clear communication & direction onsite
Ensure the accurate scoping and placement of all infrastructure and FF&E in order to deliver an effective, safe and secure location
Assist in the operations to achieve objectives for safety, environmental, quality, cost, delivery and continuous improvement
Work closely with Support Services to ensure the delivery and utilization of technology
Ensure operations are executed in compliance with established standard work instructions, training and operation plans
Deputise for Senior Management as and when required
Knowledge and Skills Required
Experience in managing large teams and working with a variety of stakeholders
The successful candidate will need strong event or bus operations acumen and an excellent track record in planning, operations and stakeholder integration
Extensive operations-related training, especially regarding venue transport operations
Project management experience including planning, design, construction, maintenance and operation of transport venues would be useful
Experience working with governmental services and agencies
Strong management skills and experience leading large teams
Experience working closely with various internal and external parties including security, police, government agencies and tournament operations teams
Excellent management capabilities and ability to proactively drive operational improvements through changes in processes, procedures and organizational design
