Overview: As a TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) and Argon Welder, you play a crucial role in the manufacturing and fabrication process by utilizing your expertise in precision welding techniques. This position requires a high level of skill, attention to detail, and proficiency in TIG welding methods, particularly with the use of argon as the inert gas. Your primary responsibility is to join metals with precision, ensuring the integrity and quality of the welded components. Key Responsibilities: TIG Welding: Perform TIG welding on various metals, including stainless steel, aluminum, and other alloys. Set up and operate TIG welding equipment, ensuring proper settings for different materials. Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions with high precision. Argon Gas Usage: Utilize argon gas as the shielding gas during TIG welding processes to prevent oxidation and ensure clean welds. Monitor and control the flow of argon gas to maintain optimal welding conditions. Reading Blueprints: Interpret and work from engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine welding requirements. Ensure accurate alignment and fit of components based on provided instructions. Quality Control: Inspect completed welds to ensure they meet quality standards, including weld appearance, dimensions, and strength. Identify and address any defects or imperfections in the welding process. Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to safety procedures. Maintain a clean and organized work environment to minimize hazards. Collaboration: Work closely with other team members, including fabricators, engineers, and supervisors, to achieve project goals and timelines. Communicate effectively with team members to understand project requirements and specifications. Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on welding equipment to ensure its proper functioning. Report any malfunctions or issues with equipment to the appropriate personnel. Qualifications: Proven experience as a TIG welder with expertise in argon gas welding. Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and blueprints. Knowledge of different metals and alloys and their welding characteristics. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality welds. Familiarity with safety procedures and a commitment to a safe working environment. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Certification in TIG welding is preferred.
