Job Description

Job Summary:

The Terminal Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all operational and administrative activities within the terminal, ensuring safe working conditions, smooth execution of loading and offloading processes, and compliance with company standards. This role leads a team of operators, manages daily operations, and coordinates with other departments to ensure efficiency, safety, and product quality.

Operational Leadership

Supervise terminal operators to ensure proper execution of loading and offloading tasks according to the daily schedule.

Allocate shifts fairly among operators and ensure proper task delegation.

Ensure all operators share required documents and pictures on the designated communication groups.

Assign and oversee additional tasks such as painting jobs or cleaning cameras when needed.

Provide training and performance evaluations for new joiners.

Safety & Compliance

Ensure strict adherence to company safety regulations and industry standards by all workers and drivers.

Conduct regular safety trainings and drills for operators.

Monitor and maintain firefighting equipment and ensure water tank levels are sufficient.

Coordinate with the maintenance department to resolve technical issues and ensure safe working conditions.

Quality & Stock Control

Ensure the quality of diesel by sending samples to trusted laboratories for testing.

Monitor additive stock and coordinate replenishment when necessary.

Track daily terminal stock levels and coordinate with the commercial team to ensure supply levels do not fall below the required security stock.

Liaise with suppliers to confirm and schedule deliveries after approval from the commercial team.

Administration & Reporting

Prepare and submit the terminal's daily operational report.

Coordinate with the accounting team for stock reconciliation.

Monitor petty cash balance, ensure accurate reporting, and coordinate with the Operations Manager.

Maintain uniform stock levels and ensure availability for operators.

Oversee proper archiving of all terminal-related documents.

Assist the HR team in monitoring operator attendance when required.

Continuous Improvement

Identify potential improvements in terminal operations and facilities, and prepare feasibility discussions with the Operations Manager.

Attend training sessions to enhance performance, technical knowledge, and safety awareness.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or technical/operational certification (preferred).

Ideally 5 years of experience in diesel terminal operations, with supervisory responsibilities.
