Job Description

Job Purpose:

Responsible for carrying out installations, repairs and maintenance of Marine Communication, Navigation & Entertainment systems and various automation system including derrick cranes, mooring winch, automatic welding system, tank level monitoring system etc. installed on-board vessel

Operate physically the Pipe Lay Tensioners as per the operating manual instructions and standards

Carry out the preventive maintenance, troubleshooting & repair of pipe laying equipment and marine communication/navigation/ entertainment systems as per OEM maintenance procedures to ensure safe, continuous and efficient operation of tensioners and marine electronics equipment on-board vessels with minimum breakdown time

Primary Responsibilities (Tensioner Operator):

Complete operation, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of SAS, Westech HMD and REMACUT tensioners, pipe handling system and related equipment as per OEM standards/manual.

Provides feedback on work undertaken by completion of work sheets to facilitate the monitoring of work progress and highlights areas of concern.

Allocates duties to personnel working with him and supervises work involved in the maintenance and repair of tensioner system. Ensures compliance with system manuals in a timely and safe manner.

Ensure that all consumables and spare parts for pipe laying equipment are available onboard and adequate replenishment levels are maintained.

Trains and monitors junior colleagues in job methodology to enable them to understand pipe laying system operations and gain experience to improve their effectiveness

Compliance in accordance with section/Company policies & procedures, Policy of Integrity & Code of Conduct and HSE standards

Secondary Responsibilities (Electronics Technician):

Installation, repair, maintenance and functional test of marine radio communication equipment like GMDSS, SSB, VHF and UHF radios

Installation, repair and maintenance of various satellite communication systems such as VSAT, Fleet Broad Band Systems etc.

Installation, repair and maintenance of navigation equipment such as Gyro compass, Radar, ECDIS, GPS, LRIT, Doppler Speed Log System, VDR, UAIS, BNWAS etc.

Installation, repair, maintenance of all type of entertainment equipment, internal communication system like intercom telephone system, SPT, talk back system, PA/GA system and all type office equipment

Installation, repair, maintenance and functional test of marine automation equipment , derrick crane & mooring winch load monitoring system , tank level monitoring systems etc.

Knowledge Skills and Experience:

3 years diploma in Electronics Engineering or equivalent.

Minimum 06 years of relevant experience in Offshore Pipe Laying Vessels, in Oil & Gas Industry, Including 2 years tensioner operator.
