Digital Banking is a worldwide phenomenon, gathering pace over the recent years and set to transform many aspects of Corporate Banking services (as well as many adjacent industries). There are a number of markets already live with various forms of digital banking offerings (e.g. EEA markets thanks to PSD2, or US owing to long-standing market driven initiatives). In most other markets, digital banking is at earlier stages of development, yet already seeing plenty of attention from established players as well as new entrants. CBUAE has published 'Vision and Strategy for Open Finance Implementation' to support digital UAE economy.

Key Accountabilities

Build and lead the development and delivery of the Corporate Digital Banking technology strategy in partnership with GTB Product Owners and other technology teams. Technical Owner of Corporate microservices based API Banking and Host to Host application platform. Strong understanding of the Microservices development and delivery. Experience in the Microservices development and API Banking. Domain Expertise of Corporate Transaction banking; expert knowledge and exposure of Banking applications/platforms; expertise and hands on experience to facilitate technology solution delivery for the bank especially in CIBG function. Strong technical skills, can cut across multiple groups in a large and complex structured IT setup, specifically act as a bridge between business and technology for high quality delivery of solutions that meet business goals and requirements. Deliver thought leadership on future of Open Banking, Open Finance and Embedded Finance in Middle East and drive Mashreq strategy to be #1 Digital Bank. Product vision - able to develop and drive a product vision that takes into consideration Mashreq's business model as well as the broader competitive environment. Accountable for the appropriateness of technology solutions delivered to, and the ongoing support and stability of, all applications related to the Corporate Digital Banking business Proactively drive business interests and demand management and deliver business value through technology deliverables. Ensure Technology deliverables deliver to business objectives and budgets. Influence senior stakeholders to aid the appropriate decisions on Corporate Solutions Architecture, Design, Development, Production Support and Stability Optimized technology solution delivery based on business requirements, existing applications, latest technology trends, total cost to operate, scalability and stability. Work with Business, Technology Operations, Technology architects, ISG and vendors to deliver these solutions Ensure stability of production systems through a structured process of application management - upgrades, patches for security and vulnerability, root causes analyses for issues Delivery of URFs raised in the bank by Corporate business units and ensure the solution delivered are meeting the business value and adherence to technology standards Deliver and support business analysis, solution and UAT management Manage a diversified team of professionals both onshore & offshore who are responsible for changes Effective use of vendors to ensure productivity through offshoring and outsourcing. Establish appropriate operating mechanisms to manage the vendor relationship Influence business to approve technology capacity and all Capex budgets Assist business in fleshing out the technology business case for all change initiatives Influence business strategic plan by providing inputs from technology Quality, cost and schedule management of all technology projects and the Corporate Programme Management function Negotiate with vendors on timelines / quality / cost parameters to secure short and long term interests of the bank Resource optimization (both onshore and offshore), employee retention, backups and engagement planning Focus on regulatory, control & audit requirements and manage all known risks related to team and projects Minimize cost on technology deliverables by utilizing existing applications Rationalize applications to reduce cost Attract, develop and retain the highest quality Tech professionals to ensure the continuous and timely support to business growth Adhere to bank's operational risk policy Influence the Corporate business stakeholders and vendors to deliver Technology solutions and production support as per optimized Quality, Service Levels, timelines and cost Manage multiple vendors across technology and influence to get delivery Ensure technology projects have got approvals from ISG, Technology architecture, hardware sizing and also meet all audit controls Manage and resolve escalations on technology deliveries and problem resolutions due to technology or Business constraints and find solutions with agreed cost / time / quality deviations Provide innovative solutions and influence senior management to take critical decisions by providing recommendations Manage and deliver technology Initiatives and maintain stability by following all technology standards and procedures and also deliver business value with minimum cost and time lines Provide cost effective, business friendly and quality technology solutions which should ensure scalability and stability

Provide innovative approaches to Business problems by utilizing existing applications and cost effective methods

Portfolio management of projects within time and budget

Decision making on critical risk mitigation items in projects

Influence senior business stakeholders and vendors for technology deliverables and stability. Resolve conflicts for resources (hardware, environments, staff and time) based on priorities through out-of-the-box solutions

Stakeholder Management and Leadership



Executive Presence - Senior Business stakeholder management and Product heads, manage key stakeholders; run business partner review meetings and represent the relevant information on behalf of technology, owning and addressing Lean recommendations and action items arising out of the management meetings. Influence and be Internal consultant to Business Owners in development of Open Banking roadmap. Lead Digital Partnership with identified Fintechs and Corporate ERP; develop and drive collaboration thesis for Open Banking in UAE and other Mashreq locations. Customer centricity - evaluates client's needs and identifies ways to address key challenges; develops partnerships and strategy to ensure market demand. Manage business expectations both in delivery and on support. Establish communication channels with business stakeholders for both issue resolution and new initiatives. Vendor Management & Negotiation - build, manage and sustain relationships with Open Banking partners across Mashreq locations. Ensure that management is at all times informed of all risks, issues and their status.

Strategic Thinking



Collaborate with Business Product Owners to define the Corporate Digital Banking roadmap Drive the Technology Strategy for Corporate Host to Host solutions. Responsible for Strategy & Solution Architecture, Technology landscape and Resource Optimize technology solution delivery based on business requirements, existing applications, latest technology trends, total cost to operate, scalability and stability. Combine Domain Knowledge and Technical expertise navigating the complexity to evaluate and recommend the most effective solutions. Balance conflicting requirements and needs of team members and project stakeholders for optimal outcome. Use effective judgment to weigh different options for achieving better results within appropriate timeframes Provide innovative approaches to Business problems by utilizing existing applications / recommending enhancements. Strategic thinking skills - ability to anticipate upcoming trends and changes in the broader environment and apply them to create competitive advantage for Mashreq.

Decision Making Authority & Responsibility



Primary responsibility of leading the change delivery, change prioritization and end to end implementation of changes in-line with business objectives/priorities Full compliance with the change management process for all production rollouts. Provide cost effective, business friendly and quality technology solutions which should ensure scalability and stability. Ensure adherence to regulatory, control & audit requirements and manage all known risks related to team and projects working with the cluster leads. Responsible to design technical solutions to business requirements. Test and Release Management Disciplines Problem and Incident Management Audit, Security and Regulatory compliance knowledge Information Security Operations and Incident Management.

Performance Management



Build, manage, supervise, coach and mentor a technical team comprising Developers, Technical Subject matter experts, Solution Designers Define talent and succession planning for the future, where possible building career paths Adhere to bank's operational risk policy. Right balancing between onshore and offshore capabilities Work with Technology Dubai and Bangalore team in planning and delivering initiatives. Work with team members participating in back up and training activities. Internal functions and work practices as per policy, compliance and procedures of the organization. Provide general administrative support to the team, including, meetings, knowledge transfer and Timesheet reporting, preparation pf weekly status report.

Expert commercial awareness

8 to 10 Years' experience in experience with Corporate Global Transaction Banking in the area of Corporate ERP - Host to Host, API integrations. Open Banking expert, and extensive experience in product management and/or payments overall. Experience at an Open Banking company / Bank preferred. Possess demonstrable Corporate Transaction banking domain knowledge; good knowledge and exposure of Banking applications/platforms; expertise and hands on experience to facilitate technology solution delivery for the bank especially in CIBG function Must have technical skills - Java 8 and above, Oracle Database, Oracle PLSQL, REST services, SOAP web services, Oracle Web-logic, nodeJS, JQuery, Knockout JS Expert understanding of industry standards, platforms and tools to drive technology strategy for the Global Transaction Banking High energy, motivated leader, able to influence across functions to drive projects and key initiatives to completion. Previous experience with managing a team. Technical fluency - understands how products are developed and the agile method. Excellent command of both written and spoken English
