Job Description
JOB TITLE: Techno Functional Specialist Analyst - Port Domain JOB PURPOSE The incumbent of this role is expected to perform periodic audit and ensure the implemented functions are used by the end users. Job holder should have in-depth of port domain knowledge with technical skills. Hands on experience in all the processes and excellent problem-solving abilities and have good communication skills and ability to speak at a level appropriate for the audience. Capable to engage with vendors to evaluate them and their products and to coordinate with cross-functional teams. Good in interacting and coordinating with the end users to understand and validate their requirements and implement the solution successfully.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- To work with Terminal Operations Team to determine, define and deliver required system functionalities and to provide new features in Terminal Operating System for optimizing the operation productivity and performance.
- To act as subject matter expert in business and port related applications thereby providing inputs to technical team and end users while implementing the solutions.
- To establish the process to handle inbound vessels and outbound vessels and ensure accurate throughput and billing details are integrated to Oracle Fusion.
- To guide the team in monitoring the interface between TOS, Host, LXE, Teklogix, Truck Control and RDT systems for smooth functioning of terminal operations.
- To be a Technical and Functional point of contact to exchange views during changes in other tightly coupled sub-system changes such as Berth planning, RTLS, Auto Hand-Off, RTIS, Reefer Monitoring Systems, etc.,
- To own Request for Proposal (RFP) preparation for new requirements related to port applications.
- Liaison with software and hardware suppliers to ensure reliable and cost-effective service and support.
- Liaison with respective BU IT manager to ensure IT practices are aligned to corporate strategic goals.
- Evaluate the new demand and lead fit-gap analysis, as-is and to- be business process designs, conference room pilots (CRPs) functional configuration, testing, end user training.
- Effectively communicate and drive project deliverables.
- Provide status and issue reports to the project manager/key stakeholders on a regular basis.
- Consistently produces clear and concise status reports to Region Office.
- To work independently on projects and production support with minimum supervision.
- Act as an ambassador for DP World at all times when working; promoting and demonstrating positive behaviours in harmony with DP World’s Founder’s Principles, values and culture; ensuring the highest level of safety is applied in all activities; understanding and following DP World’s Code of Conduct and Ethics policies.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent.
- 8+ years in supporting Port Applications and worked in large terminals.
- Strong knowledge in port domain end-to-end processes such as Inbound, Outbound, Gate, Billing, etc.,
- Technical knowledge of frontend & backend applications pertaining to port domain.
- Work experience in automation terminals preferred.
- Hands on experience in implementing TOS Frontend & Backend systems.
- Strengths in problem solving, issue-resolution, ability to work in a deadline-driven work environment, attention to detail, and ability to multitask.
- Ability to apply innovative approaches to solving complex technical issues.
- Strong oral and written communication skills to influence others, as well as ability to think clearly, analyze quantitatively, and prioritize with sound judgement.
- Ability to learn new technologies.
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
- Experience of working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
