Job Description

To perform preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance of electrical systems and equipment at pumping stations, ensuring uninterrupted operation and compliance with safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Carry out routine inspection, preventive and corrective maintenance of electrical systems in DEWA pumping stations. Troubleshoot and repair faults in motors, pumps, MCC panels, switchgear, VFDs, lighting, and control circuits. Read and interpret electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, and control schematics. Ensure proper functioning of electrical panels, distribution boards, earthing, and lightning protection systems. Record maintenance activities and update work orders in the maintenance management system. Adhere to all safety procedures and DEWA electrical maintenance standards. Assist in commissioning, testing, and installation of new electrical equipment or system upgrades. Support emergency maintenance tasks and respond to breakdowns promptly. Coordinate with mechanical and instrumentation teams for integrated system maintenance. Maintain housekeeping and ensure proper usage and care of tools and equipment.

Qualifications & Experience:

Education:

Diploma or ITI in Electrical Engineering or related field.

Experience:

Minimum 5-8 years of experience in electrical maintenance, preferably in water utility or pumping station environments.

Knowledge:

Electrical safety standards (especially DEWA guidelines) Low and medium-voltage systems PLC basics and VFD troubleshooting Familiarity with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems)

Skills:

Good understanding of electrical systems in utility operations Strong diagnostic and problem-solving abilities Ability to work under pressure and in outdoor/plant environments Basic computer literacy for documentation Good communication and team collaboration
