Technical Specialist - Avionics Grade: 5 Location: Taif, Saudi Arabia JOB PURPOSE BAE Systems is the UK Government's nominated Prime Contractor under the Government-to-Government arrangements that are in place to provide equipment, support and training to Saudi Arabia. We provide maintenance of Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) aircraft and train RSAF and Royal Saudi Naval Force personnel safely in a training environment in how to use their aircraft, equipment and weapons. This role is for Leading aspects of the Typhoon Technical Support Services' (TTSS) service across Approved Maintenance Organizations (AMO), suppliers and customers. Leading the integration and improvement of TTSS' activities, while maintaining strict compliance with Continuing Airworthiness (CA) requirements, Approved Data and maintain independence from the AMO. Developing solutions to enhance TTSS' business operations, lead change management within the CA environment and maintain TTSS' interfaces with customers, suppliers and in-Kingdom industry partners and acting as the Typhoon Avionics specialist and maintain avionics' system knowledge. JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES Responsible to the Continuing Airworthiness Organization (CAO) Services Manager, for undertaking Typhoon technical support activities. Manage Avionics System-related Technical Queries (TQ), through the communication of Design Organization advice, utilising the Team Centre Query resolution process. Review draft TQ for accuracy and validity, through applying knowledge of TQ process requirements, Typhoon approved data and aircraft system experience. For valid TQs determine and agree acceptance, prioritisation and best route to providing a TQ answer. Utilise the Teamcentre Enterprise (TCE) system to manage all TQ. Review all TQ answers for effectiveness, distribute to originating organization and ensure TCE is updated accordingly. Provide support to the RSAF in generating National Instructions from Industry provided approved data. Establish and maintain communications between the UK-based In Service Support Team (ISST), In-Kingdom Industrial Partners (IKIP), Typhoon Design Support Team, the Typhoon Approved Maintenance Organization (AMO), European Industry via the BTSC at Warton as appropriate and the RSAF, ensuring that TQ and other discrete tasks, are satisfied within contracted KPIs. Routinely review the TQ procedure to identify 'bottlenecks' in the system and areas where improvements can be made, proposing corrective actions when required. Prepare input to monthly and other TTSS performance reports, summarizing TQ activities, record TQ performance and proposing potential improvements. Act as a Typhoon Avionic SME and provide technical advice to AMO, RSAF and other TTSS stakeholders (within approved data) as required. Support TTSS' data analysis, for example from the In-Service Data Management Team, in order to identify trends in maintenance or operations and to identify and propose potential improvements RECRUITMENT SPECIFICATION Extensive proven aircraft maintenance experience supported by formal recorded workplace applied related training and have at least extensive proven experience in a relevant role (to the role described in this JD). A practitioner level of knowledge of Continuing Airworthiness and the aircraft maintenance environment. Must have at least a Practitioner level of knowledge of the Typhoon platform and, in particular, of all Typhoon avionic sub-systems and support equipment. Able to demonstrate Practitioner level of skills in aircraft modifications, technical instructions and PtM Technical Services. RECRUITMENT Able to demonstrate sound oral and written two-way communication skills with the ability to be tactful, discreet and confident in dealing with people at all levels. Able to work on their own initiative to resolve complex technical issues. Have an understanding of company PtM policies, processes and procedures. Have broad aerospace and defence company / industry knowledge.
