Technical Manager
Location: Dubai, UAE
Department: Technical / Engineering
Reports To: Project Director / General Manager
Job Purpose:
To provide overall technical leadership and management for engineering activities on major construction projects. The Technical Manager ensures all designs, methodologies, and technical submissions are accurate, compliant, and optimized for construction, acting as the primary liaison between the design consultants, site execution teams, and the client's technical team.
Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the review and coordination of all project design drawings, specifications, and BOQs for technical accuracy, constructability, and value engineering.
• Manage the technical submittals process, ensuring all materials, method statements, and shop drawings are prepared, submitted, and approved in accordance with contract requirements.
• Resolve complex technical and engineering challenges that arise during the design and construction phases.
• Coordinate with architects, structural, MEP, and other specialist consultants to ensure seamless integration of all design disciplines.
• Oversee the design management team and ensure all technical documentation is properly controlled and distributed.
• Implement and manage BIM protocols and digital construction methodologies where applicable.
• Provide technical guidance and support to the Project Management and Site Execution teams.
• Ensure all work complies with Dubai Municipality regulations, UAE building codes, and international standards.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field. Master's degree or professional chartership (e.g., C.Eng, P.E.) is a strong advantage.
• Minimum of 15 years of experience in construction, with at least 8 years in a technical management or design management role on large-scale projects (high-rise, mixed-use, infrastructure).
• In-depth knowledge of construction techniques, building codes, and approval processes in the UAE, specifically Dubai.
• Proven experience in value engineering and constructability reviews.
• Expertise in BIM (Revit, Navisworks) and design software (AutoCAD).
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
