Technical Manager - Lifting Equipment Inspection (UAE-Based)

Key Responsibilities

Lead and oversee third-party inspection services for all lifting equipment and accessories--including cranes (mobile, pedestal, EOT), slings, shackles, winches, and lifting beams--ensuring compliance with local regulations and international standards (ISO 17020, LOLER, BS EN, ASME?B30) Secure approvals and accreditations (ENAS/EIAC) for lifting assets, and coordinate audits and corrective actions as needed Develop inspection schedules, manage inspection teams, allocate resources, and report operational KPIs Review technical lifting and rigging plans, evaluate risk assessments, and implement engineering controls in line with best practice careers. Ensure thorough documentation: issue Certificates of Conformity, test reports, Detailed Inspection Reports, and maintain records per audit/regulatory requirements energy Investigate incidents or equipment failures, conduct root-cause analysis, and enhance preventive measures Manage stakeholder communication with clients, regulatory bodies, and subcontractors to align on technical standards and schedules energy Promote continual improvement through training (internal & clients), process refinement, and technical oversight.
Required Qualifications & Experience

Degree

in Mechanical, Electrical (or equivalent diploma with extensive relevant experience)

Minimum 5 years

UAE-based experience in third-party inspection or technical oversight of lifting equipment--mobile cranes, EOT cranes, slings, etc. Hands-on experience with ENAS/EIAC-approved inspections and audits
Certifications & Training

LEEA Accredited

: at least 3 diplomas covering lifting gear, mobile cranes, EOT cranes, etc. Appointed Person / Lifting Supervisor certification Familiarity with ISO 17020, LOLER, BS EN, ASME B30 standards NDT Level II certification (MT, PT, UT) is a plus UAE Driving License--essential for field visits
Technical & Leadership Skills

Proven leadership in managing technical teams, inspections, and audits Proficient in interpreting engineering drawings, OEM manuals, and technical documentation Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities--including root-cause investigations Effective communication for interfacing with clients, regulators, and internal teams
