AECOM is seeking a high-caliber, dynamic Technical Director to serve as a Design for Manufacturing Lead, in our Abu Dhabi studio. The successful candidate will be a part of AECOMaEUR(TM)s Building + Places Architectural leadership team in the UAE, helping to win, design and lead teams of architects on projects across a diverse set of sectors.

Responsibilities:

  • Focus on Platform based DfMA, complex faaade systems, modularisation, and other off-site solutions.
  • Concept development to delivery of fabrication level designs for manufacture.
  • Develops innovative building systems and advanced construction methods through detailed design and productisation.
  • Organises own and others work to achieve set deadlines
  • Responsible for the completeness & accuracy of own work. Responsible for the correctness, accuracy and complete multi-disciplinary coordination of the design documentation prepared by the assigned team
  • Leads design work on small to medium scale projects or particular packages for large projects ensuring project objectives are met, design instructions are implemented, and delivery is achieved within the set time and budget fee
  • Ensures the quality of technical work produced by team meets Client requirements and Industry standards
  • Ensures, directly and through subordinates, that projects are completed on time and meet all requirements of the Design Brief
  • Collaborates/communicates with other disciplines regarding coordination issues and common design tasks.
  • Confidently present work to colleagues, clients and stakeholders.
  • Responsible for making technical decisions regarding resolution of clashes between disciplines
Qualifications
  • B. Arch or BSc in Architecture.
  • International Accreditations (RIBA, AIA or equivalent)
  • Local Authority Architect registration required
Additional Information
  • Minimum 20 years + post undergraduate experience
  • Experience in design for manufacture and assembly (DfMA) is required for this role
