This critical role will be responsible for strategic leadership and key technical expertise, ensuring the highest quality of technical delivery within their specific discipline across the MEP Design division. This will include in partnering with the Directors of MEP Services, for business development, quality management and the management of key talent within specific discipline, across the various MEP design offices.
Responsibilities
Paramount to success within this varied role will include;
Leading the technical effort of projects within the specific discipline and ensure overall technical quality of work.
Providing advice to project teams and to assist in solving complex issues.
Demonstrating prior management experience in leading the technical design of project teams, which requires good communication and management skills.
Overseeing the technical aspects of all projects in the home office and to work with the PMs and other disciplines to ensure designs within the discipline are in line with the project scope, standards and regulations, budget and client goals.
Ensuring that the project design and technical details are carried out to suitable standards for quality as defined in the Project Execution Plan, by taking an active role in the QA/QC procedures for the office within the discipline.
Responsibility for leadership during the concept design phase of all projects either directly or indirectly via a detailed review of the CD deliverables for a project.
Taking a leadership role in large and complex projects, and be responsible for reporting on progress within the discipline to Client and Program Management teams.
Assisting in completing proposals and attending Client presentations to assist the home office in its work winning activities.
Qualifications
To be successful in this dynamic opportunity, we envision the successful applicant will bring a minimum of 20 years post graduate experience in engineering, including design, business development with a minimum 5 years\' experience heading up a technical discipline within a consulting company.
Bachelor and ideally Masters level qualifications in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline is required.
Full (Corporate) Membership of an Internationally recognized professional Institution (i.e. C. Eng. M.I.C.E. or P.E.) would be advantageous.
