Job Description

Established in 1972, ADNOC Drilling was the first fully-owned subsidiary of the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), and was set up with a mission to drill wells to enable ADNOC to unlock the UAE\xe2\x80\x99s vast reserves of oil and gas for the benefit of the nation. The company acquired its first rig, AD-1, in 1973, which can be seen today outside ADNOC Group\'s modern headquarters on Abu Dhabi\'s Corniche. For almost 50 years, ADNOC Drilling has enabled the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) to safely and efficiently unlock United Arab Emirates\xe2\x80\x99 (UAE) oil and gas resources. ADNOC Drilling is key to delivering the targeted increase in crude oil production capacity by 25% to 5 million barrels per day by 2030 and achieve UAE gas self-sufficiency.

JOB PURPOSE:
Compile and issue comprehensive Training Master Plan every year as per the corporate business calendar. Plan, co-ordinate and implement the overall learning and development programs for ADNOC Drilling as per the Training Master Plan. This includes planning and administering training courses, supervising the preparation and arrangement for courses, instructional and educational materials and training venue. Evaluate courses and arranges for the procurement of in house instructors as well as participating in selection of outside training courses and instructors. Carry out evaluation of development products to ensure adherence to quality standards, employee satisfaction and process efficiency. Lead the team to create, develop and manage all necessary elements of a learning and development section and infrastructure components. This includes: instructional design, content development, creation of e-learning solutions, creation of instructor-led learning solutions, partnerships with vendors to build and deliver learning solutions, creating and deploying necessary metrics to measure impact to the business, defining and deploying the necessary systems/tools and web delivery to host learning content, and continuously evolving learning infrastructure to align with industry trends and best practices. Currently, Company\xe2\x80\x99s total manpower count exceeds 7500 staff.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Supervises the activities of assigned personnel in the Learning and Development Section.
\xef\x82\xb7 Supervises and participates in the identification of ADNOC Drilling learning and development needs. This is a comprehensive exercise which results in issuance of Annual Training Master Plan, as per the corporate business calendar. The duties includes carrying out detailed learning needs analysis using such techniques as task or work performed analysis to identify skills and knowledge requirements and assessing levels of existing employees.
\xef\x82\xb7 Ensures that all employee data for training & development activities are captured and uploaded in the system and which are readily available for managerial review at all time.
\xef\x82\xb7 Plans and co-ordinates training programs to effectively meet training and development needs of all ADNOC Drilling divisions. Includes determining the levels, aims, objectives, and course contents of each programme, specifying for whom the course is intended and outlining performance objectives for each program, evaluating training requests from various divisions and analysis to match actual needs and availability. Establishes alternatives giving priority to local arrangements rather than overseas and discusses the issue with the requesting division. Ensures, where appropriate, that a certain series of courses follows the "Building Block" approach thus maintaining continuity in the individual\'s career.

\xef\x82\xb7 Maintains close liaison with both national and international training institutions to ensure they provide the type of training that meets ADNOC Drilling \'s needs and to keep up-to-date with the changing services being offered, assuring quality standards. Selects the most suitable organization to run each of the programs both In-house and overseas, and negotiates costs/other provisions before recommending an agreement to Supervisor. Evaluates performance of course vendor and advises on appropriate action.
\xef\x82\xb7 Verifies and endorses the cost of planned training programmes and ensures these are kept within budgets \xe2\x80\x93 assessing the return on investment of all training and development programmes conducted for the company.
\xef\x82\xb7 Ensures that the methodology for each program and the specific teaching materials are determined to fit the purpose. Ensures pre-tests and end-tests are included in the programs and that reports are completed on all participants. Opens and closes training courses and participates in conducting courses where appropriate. Ensures that complete records are maintained on all training programs both in house and abroad.
\xef\x82\xb7 Co-ordinates all safety-training activities for ADNOC Drilling employees in all locations. Includes liasing with HSE Division for the preparation of Company\'s annual safety training program and the provision of in-house trainers and selection of outside trainers, where appropriate, advising division managers of training schedules for their employees and following up to ensure timely attendance of nominees. Supervises the effective maintenance of related records.
\xef\x82\xb7 Assists the Division Vice President in the preparation of budgets, development of programs for computerized record keeping of budget information and the overall review and control of expenditure. Presents regular reports on activities related to budgets, highlighting poor budget performance for the review and action of the Manager of Human Resources.
\xef\x82\xb7 Carries out other similar or related duties such as preparing management reports on training effectiveness, maintaining a library of training materials, designing special software programs to provide computerized data, statistics, graphical presentations on the Company\'s training and development activities; attending various training and development committee meetings.
\xef\x82\xb7 Maintain a keen awareness of new training and development technologies required to build and develop excellent and competent company employees through hands-on and electronic methodologies.
\xef\x82\xb7 Comply with all UAE, ADNOC, ADNOC Drilling and client Asset Integrity Management codes of practice.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
Minimum Qualification
\xef\x82\xb7 Bachelor Degree in Business Administration or equivalent degree.
Minimum Experience & Knowledge & Skills
\xef\x82\xb7 10 years\xe2\x80\x99 broad experience in Training & Development in a major oil & gas organization, 3 years of which at Supervisor/Analyst level.
\xef\x82\xb7 Excellent knowledge of and experience with multiple learning delivery channels.
\xef\x82\xb7 Good knowledge of spoken and written English.
\xef\x82\xb7 Excellent computer skills, with practical knowledge of MS Office, SAP and e-learning programs.
